It’s going to be a long night! Why did I leave the safety of the clearing where I lived to come here? This had never happened to me, nobody had ever sought to hurt me in any way. Some wolves have tried to annoy me before, but never to hurt me. I knew someday someone would try, but I never thought it would be this way. I asked Heyel to train me, to teach me how to defend myself, but before that could happen, the sky fell. It’s all my fault! How can’t a princess not know how to defend herself? Easy… Just running away from her pack before her training could be finished. I am only a healer now, not a princess. Tears roll down my muzzle as I prepare for the worst. The silvery wolf raised his head, only to suddenly be turned right as the white one released a howl of pain. I looked up, to see the white form of Heyel! My savior!
Heyel got the white male’s tail in his jaws. I could hear it crushing as he forced his jaw closed around the other’s tail. Instinct demanded the unknown white one to twist his frame and grab Heyel exposing the left side of his throat. Heyel was ready for this, his head already turned right as his jaws parted open to connect perfectly with the white one’s throat. The assassin’s jaws closed and in less than two seconds this fight is finished and the white one is killed. Heyel spun and threw the other’s body on the ground. Heyel quickly was between me and the silvery one. I raised to my paws quickly to stand behind Heyel. My eyes wide as I watched. I wish… I wish I could help, that I could do something! I surely would try! My shoulder still bled and stained my dark fur with my own blood. It hurts badly! It hurts even to move my paw!
Heyel seemed to lunge for his left limb for a very brief second. The silvery one aimed to block his move and exposed the left side of his throat. The assassin got what he wanted and caught the silvery wolf unbalanced. Once the silvery wolf realized what Heyel would do, he tried to block his other side, losing his balance. It was too late to try to block. Heyel’s fangs connected once more with another’s throat. The silvery one had no chance. The assassin ripped his throat easily.
I took a step back and laid my body against a tree and watched. I wanted to see them suffer! Those brute, rogues! I wanted to see them being torn piece by piece! They humiliated me! They hurt me, they wanted to take my life! And I couldn’t do anything! I couldn’t do anything to stop them! Oh, how I hate myself! I wish I knew how to defend myself! I waited... Now, what would Heyel think?
I waited for the moment Heyel would turn, to see me. If he did… I wanted to thank him, I wanted to reach out with my muzzle to wrap around his neck in a wolfish hug and say thank you. He came for me. He came!
If it wasn’t for Heyel. I would... I… I don’t know what would have happened. My shoulder! It hurts so badly!
