Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Love will still remain

Jaye woke with a start. Her sightless eyes were wide with fear and sorrow and she panted heavily for a short time. Everything was dark and not for the first time Jaye waited for the light to shine, for the world to open up and become clear. But it never did. The black female remained in darkness. Jaye sighed as her mind slowly dragged itself from the abyss and she realized it had just been the dream. The same dream she had almost every night only this time, rather than seeing Bahamut and their children die, she could only hear them. She could hear their screams but she could not see. Tears threatened to shed from her eyes and she reached her nose towards the spot where she knew Dude would be laying only he was not there. Nose twitched as she sniffed and discovered her Dude had gone while she slept. Jaye smiled and shook her head as if to clear it of the nightmare knowing only too well that it would come again. "Persephone?" Jaye called, wondering if her daughter was around. When no answer came, Jaye couldn't help but feel all alone, in more ways than one.

The small den they called home for the time being was a bit chilly in the spring morning air but the bit of the wind didn't phase Jaye as her thick coat protected her but she still felt cold from within. They had gone and left her behind. Jaye knew she was aging. At fifteen she was almost an elder and the gray fur around her muzzle was proof of her age. But that didn't mean Jaye was unable to help out, right. Sure she was old, but she could be useful. Her eyes said otherwise. Since the meteor, Jaye had become a burden. No longer could she hunt, fight, run with her family. Always having to walk to be sure she would not hurt herself, always having to have someone there to aid her, always having to force the others to help her because she could not help herself. Well, maybe that would change! She had other senses after all, why couldn't she use them? With a determined growl Jaye stood up and left the den to stand in the morning sun. The rays beat down on her fur and she knew that it was not morning, but actually closer to mid-day. See, she could use her other sense. With a smile Jaye walked right into a bush. "Ow." Jaye whined. This was going to be hard.

Several hours later, not to mention many more bruises and scratches, Jaye had followed Dude's scent all the way to the Eastern Crater, although she did not know it. The world was dark now and never again would she know where she was. But one thing Jaye did realize was that the scents here were different than at the den site. Who knew, maybe one day she would learn to see with her nose. Dude's scent was closer now and Jaye couldn't help but quicken her pace to a trot as she longed to be by her imprint's side. Not knowing how far he was, or in this case, how close he was Jaye practically ran into Dude. For a moment their fur blended together before Jaye went tumbling head over tail into the ground. A small rock had cut her nose open and a small trickle of blood dripped down. The blind wolf whine a bit then giggled like a child. What a site she must be with her face in the ground and her tail in the air. What a bother she is.

love gives you pleasure and love gives you pain
