Another wolf approaches, a scarred male with a missing ear, and sits to the side, a smile on his face. At once, RAINBOW likes him and she wags her tail even faster than before. There is a slight tension in the air but it goes unnoticed as the small wolfess looks between the white female and the new male. RAINBOW nods and giggles, happy to have so many friends. "Yes, the Splash Game! I will show you and we can have fun together! You are my friends and friends should play! Oh, right, my name is RAINBOW. And I have puppies too. Yes, they are Bunny, Fishtail, and Pigeon. But they aren't here right now. No, they are in their den in Litherum. I will go get them, but we can play the Splash Game first." And with that she turned around and started off, looking for a river. She didn't turn to see if the others were following her for now her mind was only on finding a source of water.
Oh, how much fun this would be! RAINBOW trotted along in a sort of wolfish skip as she kept her periwinkle eyes open for water. She could smell it, yes, RAINBOW was very good at smelling things. Like flowers, pretty flowers, colorful flowers. They always smelled good but water smelled different. It wasn't as pretty as flowers, but it was fun and that was all that mattered to her. The sun above was ever so hot and with her dark, fluffy fur, it was hard to feel cool no matter how hard she panted. It was a good time to play in the water and she even had friends to play with this time! Having friends was good, yes it was.
There was a sound that made RAINBOW stop for just a moment as she cocked her head to the side in a comical fashion. There it was again. A sort of wet sound, like a river. RAINBOW gave a back of excitement and lowered herself into a play bow as her tail wagged so fast her butt and back legs wiggled with it. Yes! It was true. RAINBOW had found a river to play in with her friends. What a good water finder she was. Turning only for a moment to see if the boy and girl were behind her, RAINBOW took off like a bullet laughing all the way. Sure enough, just over a grassy knoll, there was a small river with sparkling water lazily drifting along. The fluffy wolfess dove into the water and felt the icy waters lap at her undersides and cool her body. Suddenly, something gray and shiny leaped out of the water right in front of RAINBOW almost smacking her in the face. She gasped in shock and delight as she realized what it was. "A fish! A fish!" RAINBOW tried to catch it but it fell back into the water and swam away with the speedy current.
"Oh yes, the Splash Game!" she said, not really turning around to see if they were there. "This is how you play. Watch me, watch me!" RAINBOW gazed at the surface of the water with such intent it was laughable. Then, with careful movements, she raised her left leg so her paw was out of the water. It hovered there for a moment as RAINBOW waited for the perfect moment, though she wasn't really sure when that was. Then, her paw was pushed back into the water sending small droplets up into the air like shimmering diamonds only to be gobbled up by RAINBOW's waiting jaws as they snapped shut. Giggling, she did this again and again. Slash, snap, splash snap all the while laughing without a care in the world. "This is how you play. Come, come, play with me. The Splash Game is so much fun! You'll see! Come!" RAINBOW said, turning to smile at her friends with that wonderful innocence many wish they could have.
