Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

these people keep to themselves,

Still here, huh? So maybe this guy was going to be harder to shake than she first anticipated. Urgh, why was she in such a strange mood? Usually she was not so... snippy but she could not help it. Perhaps it was the seasonal change or the way he went completely unaffected by each and every word she spat. His own form of mockery brought a jester's half smile to her features, nodding so slightly in acknowledgement of it. So there was some bite in the wolf? Good. Maybe if he got snippy with her, they could just get all the snippiness out of the way and get down to whatever business he had come for. After all, he did not seem like the kind that had approached for her fairness or hopelessness - that meant some other kind of agenda was hidden behind his eyes. She'd damn well pull it out of his very throat if she had to - she hated surprises and secrets. She had her own, yes, but other wolves'? No. She needed to know theirs.

"Boy, when you're as small as me, you don't do a whole lot of tackling," she hissed, her ears flickering back and tail flicking out around her limbs before her face broke back into the insistent grin, "you do a lot more running and a lot more sneaking or you'll end up like the rest of them."

Her mother who thought she could return, save them all and leave; her father who had been too stubborn and her brother who had disappeared despite his survival. They'd tried tackling their problems and look how far that had gotten them? She ran, though, and she got food, sanctuary and reprieve all through sneaking and dancing about. It was his next words that finally captivated the entirety of her attention, however, and her gaze slowly slid back to meet his with one ear folding forward. An offer? Well then, maybe she had been wrong about him - he did have something for her or so he would have her believe. She remained silent for some moments, mulling it over before she suddenly moved to stand, shaking her pelt out slightly and straightening herself up. He towered over her even seated, and she moved at a bouncing stride to stand beside him though she faced the opposite direction. Her tail lashed out, brushing against him as she peered over her shoulder.

"Come, walk with me - it seems we have things to discuss," she cooed, flashing a toothy grin before bouncing off at an easy lope. Down the hill she moved, waiting for him to meet her stride before one ear simply turned to him, "What is this offer you have and what is it you request of me in exchange? Best be honest or I may decided that you have entertained me long enough."
