Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

It was time to explore the rest of the world. I had been living comfortably within the borders of Spirane for several months and I had become more familiar with the land and a few of my pack mates. Now it was time to see the new world that I was born into. I don't remember much of the earth before Father Sun's rage, just bits and pieces of my old home others had called Judila. I remember a river and a mountain, two worlds combined into one. The rest is dark, full of panic and pain. No, stop! I would not allow my mind to leave me again, not today. It was a different day today and I found myself walking towards the east, away from Spirane and towards the crater. I had never stepped foot there since the sky fell on us. I was afraid of it, but it was time to get over that fear. Wolves were living comfortably there and rebuilding their new lives. I think it was time for me to do the same.

It was midday by the time I stood at the rim of the crater, gazing down with wide eyes. I wondered if Daddy had gone down there to find Mom. Or did he leave Moladion all together? If he was down there, I wasn't going to find him by standing here. With a deep sigh, I took a single step towards my future. Sister Wind was by my side as I slowly made my way deeper into the crater, whispering into my ear with words of encouragement. She was here for me and never would I truly be alone so long as the wind was blowing. The deeper I went the fast I moved until I was running down, down, down into the crater.

The beauty of new Moladion was everywhere! The earth had healed from the mighty blow and fresh, green grass and tall trees grew all around. I could even hear the sound of water bubbling nearby and even the smell of a wolf. I stopped then and turned to see a lone wolf about my age standing with his head in the water. What is he doing? Sister Wind rushed past me in a sudden change of direction and seemed to push me towards that boy. I was confused but I listened to her call and padded towards the water’s edge. I stood there, with my head cocked to the side and let out a soft bark, hoping to get his attention.
