The sea washed over the lithe figure of Maji, dark brown and white pelt obscured by the gray water. The waves were soft against her sides, stroking her lovingly with their streaming fingers. Maji swam fluidly and with the confidence of someone well practised at it. Her long tail streamed out behind her in the water and she kept her chin raised high, blue eyes staring ahead eagerly at the shorline that she was quickly nearing.
With brisk, sure steps, Maji slipped out of the ocean's arms and onto the wet sand. Just one more thing brought in by the tide. The mare twisted a long and elegant neck to cast a single steady glance back at the waves. She stood there for a moment, gazing over her lover's rolling body.
She cut a fine figure, standing on the shoreline and backlit by a few weak rays of light that pushed through the cloud cover overhead. She was medium to tall in hight, of average build, her body a rich seal brown with white markings eating up her legs and sides and stretching up her neck. She had a bald face, white was bone, with twin blue eyes, the ocean's mark, staring out. Water still streamed off her barrel and the mare dripped all her inhibitions onto the sand along with it. Whatever happened, this was where she would stay. This was her place. She could feel it.
It began to drizzle as she turned away frome the ocean and let herself be drawn slowly, tenderly, to the reaching jungle. It looked so much like her birth home. Maji shut her eyes briefly as the drizzling rain melded with the salt laden water already staining her pelt. It was like a welcome. The sea's way of telling her that it was still with her even if she was not with it. The thick green of the Paradise waved it's dark leaves in welcome. The vines and creepers called out to her in their clamoring voices. The trees were on their knees, begging. Come closer. Come nearer. Come home.
Maji went.
