At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ The scruffy black pup grinned up at the much larger male, seemingly oblivious to the heat despite his dark fur. He was going to respond when his mother appeared, giving him a look he easily recognised, making him aware that he had to behave. Of course, that didn’t mean he was going to completely behave. Not many pups would, especially those as packed full with energy as Rex. The pup skulked back to her, but continued to observe the stranger with curious eyes. Lady Violet turned to leave, but was stopped by an invitation from the brute to join him in the shade. She glanced back to him with a steady gaze, head held high with self assurance but tail relaxed and showing no display of an attempt to gain dominance. She thought for a moment before responding, "Very well. I shall accept your offer; in any case, the day is far too hot to be out of the shade for long." The graceful femme picked her way back over the grass, shade fully covering her light pelt as she sat beside the lying male. She had to admit it was much more pleasant sitting with another adult’s company on a day with such nice weather. It was much better than travelling, and though she loved Rex with everything she was she sometimes craved the company of wolves her own age. She missed simple conversations over the endless stream of questions that the black ball of fur seemed to feel the constant need to ask. "I go by Lady Violet," she replied, turning her gaze from her young son to the newly introduced male, "It is a pleasure to meet you Shuko." Rex watched mildly as the adults conversed, before growing bored and looking for something else to do. It didn’t take him any time at all to spot a blade of grass that just didn’t sit right with him. He crouched and crawled forward, copying the style his mother used for hunting, a grin on his face. A sloppy leap had him landing on the blade, lowering his head to bite at the grass in too quick a movement that ended with him rolling completely over with his ears crushed underneath his head. Spinning in a quick flip, he snarled and batted at the air, bouncing around and finding amusement in nothing in a way that only pups know how. Suddenly a flash of fur slid past, catching only minutely in the Lady’s eye as she observed Shuko. Before the new wolf was even registered, he’d pounced on top of Rex. Said pup yelped in surprise as he toppled over again, this time landing on his back and looking up into the face of a stranger towering above him. On reflex his tail curled submissively, before he flipped over and scooted back towards the lake a little. He looked up with wide eyes at the brute standing between himself and his mother, feeling vulnerable and unable to do anything but stand frozen and stare. Under the shade, Lady Violet had jumped up and stood rigidly. She didn’t know what the newcomer’s purpose was, but wasn’t at all keen on having the beige brute between her and her offspring. "What are you doing?" her voice was tense, the words clipped as ingrained manners tried to restrain the urge to spit out the question with venom. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ |
