Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

silent, she comes through the night - desiring a silver light

It would probably be a terror for anyone charged with keeping tabs on Persephone. Some days, she was content to sit mostly still in the den or with her mother or on some bank, because that was the time that she did most of her thinking and most of her reasoning. Other days, telling her to sit still was entirely in vain - she was prone to ignore commands that conflicted with her own plans and when her brain had sorted through and used up all other information, she just had to get out and find new things. It was a cycle. Collect information, images, sounds, smells... settle down and mull over it a while, and then get up and do it all again.

The day had started with her running about, perhaps looking for an oddity in the trees or a new banding of sediment in the rocks she hadn't seen before. What she had happened upon was an interestingly placed slab of rock on top of another, smaller rock at the edge of the river. If she stood upon one end, it went down and the other end went up. If she placed pebbles upon one end, and then stood on the other, they rolled down to meet her. Hours were likely spent playing with the natural phenomenon, before she laid herself down perfectly balanced on its center and... pondered. It was another hour still before she realized she should probably check on her mother and make sure she hadn't wandered into the river and drowned or something.

Okay, a crude way of looking at it, but Persephone did not actually hold any resentment towards her mother. She was merely as blunt in her own head as she was outwardly toward the rest of the world.

Persephone figured that with the hours passed, her mother would likely not be still lounging where she had left her, and so instead of heading back to that spot, she followed the edge of the river. Glorall was made up of many rivers, streams, and waterfalls that mostly connected at some point - it was a sound strategy that following one would take her through most of the pack land that was still a little unfamiliar to her. Her mother had decided to live there, after all, because of family they apparently had... but Persephone was still a child raised in the Outer Rim.

It brought success. Through her one good eye she could see the figure of her mother across her river and still on the island, alongside two others. Her first thought was both concern and curiosity, though the concern was quickly quenched when she acknowledged the lack of hostilities. Besides, wasn't that one young lady supposed to be the Queen of this waterfall land her mother had brought her to? Though she was still older than herself, she seemed a bit young to be a Queen of anything. But that was simply Persephone's thoughts on the subject.

The only thing she heard upon approaching was the mention of a bridge, the imprint of her mother's grandson, and her mother's intention to walk across the aforementioned bridge. Persephone sorted through what little she knew as she stepped off the bank of the river and pulled herself through the water towards the Queen's island. Bridge... strip of walkable land connecting two other land masses. That was likely the pile of rocks and branches that, curiously, had not been there last time Persephone had visited the area. Her mother's grandson's imprint. That was Weylin, was it not? Yes, the supposed Alpha here, and Persephone's... nephew? And Selene was his Queen, his imprint.

The only thing of real concern, then, was Jaye's intention to cross the bridge of unknown strength - not that the water was deep enough to drown her should it fail, but what if a paw got wedged between two of those flat rocks? What if she got tangled in the branches? Of course, she couldn't deny the sudden burn of curiosity in her gut and in her head as she looked over the new construction.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," she audibly protested as she shook the water from her fur and approached the three, an obvious and crooked frown on her lips and furrowing her brow. "I protest." Told you. "Mum, you can't even see where the bridge leads to. You'll certainly wander off of it. And hello... Selene, was it? I don't think we've met, yet, but I know who you are." Because Persephone just knows everything, now doesn't she?

She then paused to regard Pan, a face she had not really met before, with careful scrutiny and not without a bit of intrusiveness. "You made this?" Her head gestured towards the bridge stretched from the island. "... How?" Of course it was how and not why. The reason behind it was not important to her at that moment, only what went into its creation.

leaving, with dusk in her eyes - descending from paradise
