How lonely is the night without the howl of the wolf?

OOC- I know Henadin and Terrel have gone on a quest together but let’s pretend that Henadin doesn’t know about him yet. We can use it to test their ‘relationship’. :D

It didn’t take long for Henadin to quicken his steps and walk by the lasses side rather than behind her. Following a wolf was more a dominance submission relationship and Channing didn’t want that for them. If anything she wanted them to be friends and you never know maybe more in the future. The once forced smile of the brute was becoming more natural and fell upon his maw with ease, just as it did on hers. The femme found herself feeling unnaturally comfortable with this male. She had found it hard lately to let males in but there was something different about Henadin. It was a mixture of mystery and calmness that made it so easy to open up to him, though something’s were not so straight forward. Like any wolf she came with baggage and it would be that baggage that would decide the future of the pair.

From the moment Terrel worked his way into the female’s mind, things began to go somewhat downhill. Although she had tried to hide the worry clear on her expression, the lad picked up on the concern and his smile started to fade. She was going to have to tell him about Terrel sooner rather than later or she would lose him and even though they had only been speaking for a short time, the thought of it knocked her sick. Channing had never really been any good when it came to loosing someone dear to her and although she hardly knew the brute it felt like she had known him for years.

Once the pair reached their destination, the lad slowed down. Channing, who had kept her eyes on the terra in front of them, turned her gaze to the male and felt a knot of sadness tighten in her stomach. His face now held a frown and the ess wanted so badly to comfort the lad and tell him that it was nothing to do with him. She tried to think of how to bring up the subject of her son without it hitting him like a ton of bricks but Henadin got there before her and began to speak. Her auds flickered as he asked what was wrong before turning his gaze away from hers. He then spoke again and the sentence hurt more than she expected it to. It was clear that she had to speak now and confront the lad before he got the wrong impression.

“Henadin.” She paused trying to think of the least painful way to answer his questions. “I assure you, it is nothing that you have done. I have to admit I have grown quite fond of you in the short period we have spent talking, but there is something I must tell you. I’m not sure how you will take it but this is my baggage and it will determine what happens to our relationship.” She stopped letting her words sink in. Channing knew that Henadin would appreciate short sweet statements more but she had to get this off her chest before it ruined what bond they had already made. “I have not wasted any of my time talking to you. I have loved every second of it.” She smiled fondly to the lad but it vanished as quickly as it appeared. “The reason I became so worried is because of my.... Because I have...” She sighed. “Terrel.” The word blurted from her maw. “I have an adopted son called Terrel.” She took a deep breath before focusing on the gray brute before her. She waited patiently for the brute to answer and that time would be one of the most agonising moments of her life.
