aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The mottled brute had watched Magic’s response as each of the lupine’s votes had been cast. She had been very accepting of the situation, dipping her head when Chiron spoke. When it was Zig’s turn, Magic had looked hopeful, her auditories perking up. But after Zig spoke, Kalgalath’s icy gaze watched her body motions cease, a smile laying upon her maw, yes, but her tail laying still upon the ground. Kong’s vote came last of all, and Kalgalath was pleasantly surprised when Magic smiled brightly and nodded her cranium. Kal allowed his maw to spread in a grin. Her words lent to his happiness – there were no hard feelings. She promised to remain in the pack with her mate, and spoke of the fact that she would have voted for him also, had she not been in the running. Also promised was that they would get to know each other. Kal dipped his head to her and also to Glitch and smiled at the pair of them. “I am glad that the pair of you wish to remain in the pack. It gladdens my heart that there are no hard feelings.” The brute’s blue orbs watched as Magic curled her tail around her mate, comforting him.

Kal could only hope that Glitch would be as accepting of the situation as Magic had been. The brute was clearly a spirited one, and Kal hoped that the pair of them could come to see Kalgalath as their friend, and not only as their new pack leader. In fact, he supposed that went for all present, as he had previously said, for Kong was the only one he was close with for now. Kal’s thoughts switched temporarily to the fae he had met at Staircase Falls. She had promised to visit the terra… how surprised she would be to find out that he had won the position of Alpha! Kalgalath smiled at the thought, dearly hoping that Leila would indeed visit. Although he had not pushed her at all, he wanted her to join the pack. His ascension to the throne would mark a new start for the pack, and his first goal would be to bring in more members to liven up the terra. And then, of course, to unite the pack – they could not be a strong, cohesive unit if they did not know one another.

Kalgalath continued to think of future plans whilst he awaited Kori’s response. What was her business with his pack? Was she going to offer forth a possible peace treaty, or would other words fall from her maw? He was not well acquainted with Saw Tooth… the brute sighed. That should probably change as well… he thought to himself. In order to be a good leader, he would have to know which ones were allies and which were foe. All in do course. For now, it was this pack to think about, and this pack to deal with. Kal smiled at Kori and ceased his motions, sitting proudly upon his haunches, awaiting her words patiently.
