Triangles, rectangles, dark rusty metal and dust. Really what did it matter? She tried to re-invent the sky above her for a moment so it was neither cold threateningly icy snow or the dark metal framework. Before her she tried to picture out an open sky, laden with stars. No- but she hated the dark, hated night time when she was outside. But if it were just the stars, just the sky and not the bare thickly compacted trees that threatened to close on in on her there was nothing to fear. If only she could slice it all open, she somehow expected so see some kind of galaxy. The core heart of a star- that would be something interesting to see. Probably like the inside of a volcano or a lot of colorful sparkly gas- dangerous gas- but still it had to be something awfully pretty. Something better than this. Somewhere far far away from here. There had to be some place around here that was safe and warm. At last things were starting to settle down and become peaceable again. She was in a much better place after what had happened, though she did have to say she was still very nervous in several situations because of it. The meteor , it scared her so. It killed most of her family and she was still mourning of it after years. It would take a lot more than 'it's going to be okay.' to calm her down. |
