Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

shiver my timbers, shiver my sides
yo ho, heave ho
there are hungers as strong as the wind and tides
yo ho, heave ho

When he had made the challenge he knew that there was always going to be the potential for being stabbed in the back afterwards. It is the way of pirates to expect such things, to see the evil potential of even those who claimed to side with good. It would have been foolish for Weylin not to tell Sulan that to cross him in his retaking his kingdom - and their subsequent gladness for his return - to warn him that there would be death in the future if he fought him. If he had been willing to sacrifice the future children of the former Diamond King, then certainly death was not a stretch of the imagination. He was prepared if Sulan challenged again to move forward, to rid himself of the heckling challenges that would come or to die trying. Death matches, some would say, are rare -- but all the same, Weylin saw the sense in them. If it was in a wolf to constantly come back to disrupt the plans for his pack - then death was the only option left to them. Death either at his teeth or at his Gunner's. It is not said that a challenge can only be sent TO a pack, but also may come FROM a pack. He knows that at the very least that Natalya will defend him and his throne - they have a deep understanding of hate, of pain, of the darker side of the moon than most.

But what surprises him, is that Sulan is here, at his door. He can smell the older male, his not-blood Uncle by Dusk's mating, from where he is patrolling and hears the distant howl. He bristles, believing Sulan to have returned for nefarious reasons. He stalks, quiet as an assassin, teeth exposed in preparation -- until he sees how Sulan sits at the border with no malice in his eyes at all. Weylin's hackles lower, his face - as he remains hidden - slackens and turns to a look of surprise. He had expected Diveen at his door, knocking down the door in spite for their fallen friend. He had expected Sulan - with rumors of Diveen's king's own father training Sulan in the challenge grounds - to come here in hate and revenge. It is not so and it makes Weylin have to recollect himself. He makes his face neutral, no emotion at all, as he shows himself to Sulan.

“Uncle.” He says, his masculine voice sounding mildly surprised, but not at all as surprised as he really had been in the brush. “You did not call very loud, what if I did not know you were here? It is a large land after all.” And yet it is a joking question, because both of them knew that Weylin would know - had been obviously prepared for him to be here in either hate or challenge. Hadn't Apache pretty much said he would take revenge for Sulan after all? “I met your man Apache - or so I am told is his name. He threatened me before leaving, you know, Haha.” He chuckles because it had not occurred to the foolish wolf, before running off with his raving madness, that Glorall was not just a single wolf - but all the wolves that had been gathered around him. Even if Weylin fell, it was very likely Apache would have no wolves to rule - or at least a scant few - and all that was needed was for him to return to those who would follow him over the strange, and slightly - surely - mentally touched male..

His eyes grow harder, more serious then. “What is it, Sulan, that you have come for? A challenge?” It is a cold voice he uses now, much less friendly than it had been when he had spoken seconds before. “Because my people have welcomed me with open arms and I will not fail them, nor will they fail me. It would be a hard fight for you, Uncle.” And yet Weylin still calls him Uncle, and contrary to what his challenge said -- does an enemy ever call their enemy family? No. Just calling him Uncle says that Weylin is ready to forgive, is ready to talk if his intentions were good.
