"Bahamut, I think you would be proud of our family. I wish you were here to see this. Only you would understand the humor." Jaye said with her muzzle pointed to the sky. The older wolfess had been in the background and out of sight while the pack was thrown into a power struggle. Dusk and her mate had come to power and just as quickly lost it as Weylin followed in his grandfather's footsteps. To Jaye, it had been a comical game of hot potato and she was content to simple stand back and let things play out as they were supposed to. Either way, she had a pack and a place to live out the rest of her days. To an old, blind wolf like Jaye that was all that really mattered. A familiar howl called out above the gentle lull of the river. Jaye's ears perked and a smile spread across her face. Weylin was just like Bahamut in more ways than one. Jaye had known her grandson would return and with him came a new start for all of them. With a grunt, Jaye stood on steady paws and slowly made her way towards the others. Their scent had filled the air and Jaye couldn't help but puff out her chest in pride to hear the voices of every wolf gathering around her grandson, their alpha. Making her way through each wolf, brushing against them to share in the pack bond they all had, Jaye slowly made her way to Weylin. There, she stood before her grandson and in her mind's eye she could see him standing beside Bahamut and a single tear ran down her cheek. "It's good to have you back, Leader," she said before moving off to sit close by with a gentle smile upon her face.
