aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The night had been warm with the slightest hint of a chill; some wolves loved this perfect temperature. The way they both contrasted with each other was a night when wolves and other animals had wandered out from where they planned to sleep in order to feel this wonderful cold occasional chill. Owls thrived by eating the mice that crept out of their holes in search for an evening snack, night prowlers stalking towards the herds of animals that were enjoying the night air. Such wonderful weather for some who have experienced bone-chilling cold. However, some did not like the weather and fell into their dens to sleep into a better day.

A pair of wolves had been socializing with each other; a pair of friends with perhaps similar tastes and likes. Their pelts were indeed fluffy enough to provide warmth to each chill of a breeze. Yes, some could say it was wonderful. They were sitting and chatting while the night stayed young and grew old at the same time. Such wonderful things can come into perspective is one can just think about it. The female of the two, black as night and a shadow among herself, had wanted to become friends with the wolf that stood by her side. She put in the back of her mind that he was the new alpha, winning the vote that she had been in also. She didn’t want to dwell on that subject any more and decided to put the past behind her. The black vixen, dubbed Magic, had been listening to Kal as she started to have a conversation. King Kong was a wonderful subject for starting a conversation and the vixen wanted to learn more about their friendship anyway. After this small quote and mentioning of a small white pup and the pair of friends being pack mates in Munashii Gekko, the leader had switched to a different topic about how two new wolves had been accepted into the pack.

One had the title of Lelia, but the other stuck out to her; a pup named Tyson. Her leader as explained that he was really a walking object that was skin and bones, with a small mind and a sassy attitude. She nodded, tasting the blood in the air from the goat kid she had killed a few days ago; their was still plenty to share and the black vixen was about to offer it up when Kal had read her mind. She realized she did not hide the scent of the kill very well, and vowed she would do something about it later. Kal requested that she would share her meal with the pup, and of course the vixen had agreed. Her orbs blinked as he headed off into the trees to gather the ranks of the small pup. The fae nodded, becoming alone once again and melting into the shadows. She hoped that they would still be able to get to know each other and continue their conversation soon; that was what she was planning to do in the first place, right? Anyway, the vixen sat upon the shadows for a couple seconds, then decided she had better get a move on; she had promised to deliver the meat at the crack of dawn, and by the feel of dew on her fur and the cold receding, she raised her bodice from the ground and went in search of the goat she had poorly hidden.

She trotted through the trees, tasting the air here and there in case she forgot the path she needed to remember. She stepped through the brambles and undergrowth at her feet and the scent continued to grow stronger. She smiled, since the scent that was growing stronger was still quite faint to the animals that were not searching for this sort of food. Soon, she found the tree she had set it under, the roots coming up from the ground and creating a small hole for something to be kept in there. She would need to find something better to hide the scent of future kills, but that would come later. She stuck her head into the hole and grasped the neck of the buckling within her ivory daggers, feeling a taste of blood seeping down into her maw. She pulled it out with ease, and started to make her way back to the clearing, the sun’s rays almost peaking out from behind of the horizon. Going back from the way she had came, the walk was harder to journey, considering the harsh brambles and burrs that stood in her way. It took a rather long time, but soon the brambles thinned out, and it was an easier walk on a worn trail. She finally found the clearing again, and saw that Kal and the small pup were indeed standing there and it was also the crack of dawn. The sunlight pierced her eyes slightly more harshly than they would have another wolf’s, but the was part of her rehab to live in the light of day.

She pulled the goatling from within the shadows and set it in front of her, and set to examine the pup she was asked to feed. He was quite small, and she could see his ribs almost sticking out from his tiny bodice. She frowned, and knew that soon the blood lust would overcome him and she wouldn’t be able to control himself for much longer. She wondered if she would have to open the kill for him, but then remembered as she saw the part of the kid that was oozing red liquid from the side she had eaten on a couple of hours ago. She stood back and smiled. “Hello again, Kal. And hello, pup. I presume you are the Tyson that I have been requested to feed?”
