aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The black phantom’s luminous optics observed the dusty terrain, conveniently discovering great curiosity in the shrubberies that succeeded to flourish there. Unexpectedly, the alpha had pressed his melded hide along the flanks of her body like a hairy towel. He performed this to mop absent the outer layers of droplets. Only, Leila recognized nothing of towels – only survival. She attempted (although lying was not her strongest point) to hide her humiliation under a minor smile. She loathed being regarded like a little pup but she understood that Kalgalath was only doing it with good purposes. In a way, it produced Leila to smile – she had a friend who would look out for her now…. And optimistically she hoped she would locate many more in the territory. Her optics surveyed the brute as he strode away and shook his coat – just as he had done at Staircase Falls. The black phantom still felt numb and the sun it occurred was absent; banished above a coating of adverse clouds. Once again, Leila shook her pelt and to her relief she felt slightly less dense although the cold air and damp surface still caused shivering. She felt slightly sympathetic for Kalgalath – he felt guilty.

“D-don’t apologise Kally, it was good f-fun. And I’m sure I shall live.” She retorted with a minor grin. “Yep, that sounds like a p-plan.” They were ambling their way over to some secluded dens – not what Leila favoured. They made her feel compressed and tightly bundled but she decided that she would hold judgement until she located it for herself. They walked for a few moments, broadening to the distant bearing of the terrain. They mingled in amongst countless trees before a whole series of dens opened into their vision. Still, she felt it was too small, she had forever dreaded being imprisoned in small places. It was awful and even the thought of it caused a tremble to fling down her spine. Never to escape, destined to starve, destined to die. Her spheres examined the terrain around the duo but she did not require long; there was not too much to regard. Her mind recalled the brute’s former dialogue; the groves… “I have to admit that I am not too keen on den – they are too squashed. I prefer sleeping under a tree or under the overhanging of a low cliff… It depends on the weather.” Leila replied.

The brute then confirmed that there was one more stop which he had titled the secret hiding place. A small but visible smirk crept upon her mandible. Then Leila swiftly realised she no longer felt cold, even her prior dialect had not been paused with stutters of chills. “That sounds great!” She bellowed, the black phantom’s once frozen tail began to sway with a mellow momentum. “Come on then Kally – lead me to this secret.” She was anxious to discover the areas of Aurora Borealis.

All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles have strengthened me... You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.
