The alpha arrived swiftly to Aindreas’ panicked call, and the snowy titan wondered how to break the news to him. The alpha was relaxed at the moment, but Aindreas had ideas that that would change upon hearing what Aindreas had to say. But he waited to speak until Serris had spoken first, allowing the alpha the talking privileges, as was proper. It’s good that you’ve called me, I’ve been meaning to talk with you Aindreas. But before I jump the gun, what is it that couldn’t wait?
Aindreas drooped his ears and averted his gaze away, showing his submissiveness to Serris. His plume stayed and lowered, the worried swaying ceased for the time being. It was time to give his report. The snowy titan had been waiting for Serris to reprimand him about patrolling the border obsessively in Serris’ absence, and now was as good of a time as any. Better to be punished all at once… “My lord Serris… I know that you are probably upset with me for patrolling so much whilst you were absent, but I wanted to ensure the safety of your pack and thoroughly prevent the intrusion of any strangers. I do not regret my actions, and take full responsibility for them. I accept any punishment you deem necessary. But as to why I called for you... I believe Kobato has left the pack. For good. She returned from one of her trips with a strange scent upon her, and then asked for me to play with her – a game of hide and seek. I obliged her, wanting to please the little princess that you had been caring for - ” Aindreas paused in his monologue, noting that he had already switched to referring to Kobato in the past tense. The brute took a breath, and then finished his speech. “ - And while she had me counting, she crossed the border. She ran through the river, and must have travelled through it for a long distance, for I could not find where she exited on the other side. I am sorry for losing her, Master. Again, my lord Serris, punish me as you see fit.” His vocals were cold and monotonous, stating the facts of what had occurred, leaving out all emotion. Except for when he had apologized, of course. Aindreas fell silent and still, awaiting whichever words or punishment Serris would choose to lash him with.
He did not know what Kobato had fled. She clearly did not want to be followed, for she had covered her tracks too well. But why had she left without saying goodbye, at least to Serris? Aindreas did not understand fae’s at all…
