aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

The strange fae with the foreign scents upon her light pelt had jumped upon taking Kal in, though he had approached her directly. She seemed to have been daydreaming, and the brute wondered what it was the fae was dreaming about. The pack whose scent laid upon her. The white ball of fluff that invaded Kal’s memory. Or was it something else? Someone else? The fae’s voice rang out with a high pitch and a childish smile upon her kissers. I am Kobato! Her plume swayed as she continued on with her monologue. Mister, mister, what’s yours? Well – the fae seemed harmless enough, to be sure. Childish and innocent and carefree. Extremely friendly. But he would lend no trust her way, with so many scents upon her pelt. And then the fae had spoken of her intentions: to heal hearts. The brute narrowed his eyes, confused by the fae’s words. But then she had continued her words. I want to fulfill my wish…And to do that, I must make others happy! That’s why I heal hearts – if my friends are happy, maybe my heart will be happy soon too! The fae’s words rang true. She meant every single one. She was here… to heal others? To act as their therapist? How strange… although that would surely account for the different scents the fae had upon her, if she had been trying to heal many different lupines. So did she want to join the pack and do the same here? No, it would not make sense that she wanted to join the pack, not permanently, at least. Temporarily, until her job was done most likely.

When Magic had arrived, the fae had waited patiently.. The brute had begun to trust Magic, and she was one of only two wolves that knew about Aindreas. Her own knowledge of him was much less than Kong’s, but Kong had been absent as of late. Surely Magic would do the job adequately and fully, should she accept it. The grey began to think about what his course of action would be once he had his answer. What would he do, should Aindreas be alive and in Blossom Forest? Go and see him? And say what exactly? That he had missed him as a father would miss a son? Extend an offer to join Aurora Borealis? What would Aindreas’ reaction be? Had he been mad when Kalgalath had left without him, without saying goodbye?

And if it was not Aindreas, what then? Would he leave Blossom Forest once more to search for the white ball of fluff that he remembered? No, he could not do that, for he had the entirety of this pack to look after. But now, after he had had hope that Aindreas had returned, surely he would not be able to let Aindreas’ absence go on? So many questions lingered in his mind…
I will go right away, Kal. Are there any specific instruction I am requested to follow? Magic’s words brought Kal back to the present. The brute paused, allowing logic to return to his mindset. This pack and it’s safety were his first and foremost responsibilities, and he could not allow his emotions to run away with him. “Munashii Gekko has always been a strong pack. Kong told me that it is still so. If Aindreas’ scent leads into the pack, ask to speak to the alpha there. Be honest, and tell them of this fae. If she is a runaway, they should know of it. It will also give us a better idea of her character. And then, if you do deem the alpha to be strong and able, offer to him an alliance. If Aindreas is in the pack, he will make himself known – remember, I taught him loyalty to his alpha first and foremost. He will smell my scent upon your coat, no doubt, but you will know him by these features: his coat is as white as the first snow, and his eyes… his eyes are the same as mine. Arctics. Be safe

Kalgalath turned his focus back to Kobato after he had spoken to Magic. “It is nice to meet you Kobato. My name is Kalgalath, and I am the alpha of this pack. Your intentions sound strange indeed to me. Is that why there are so many scents upon you? Before I can allow you entrance into the terra, there are just a few more answers that I need. You are not looking for a permanent place to live are you? You simply want to aid wolves and then move on?” The brute paused, deciding to wait for her answers before either allowing her or refusing her admittance.

The pack surely had had enough pain recently to need healing… perhaps the young fae’s presence would be a welcome change to the roster, whether she intended to stay or not. She did not seem like a threat, but still – should she prove to be one, she would be dealt with swiftly and completely.
