OSIRIS
In this land of make-believe, dead and dry
In my opinion this was the best time I could have come across these borders and looked on over this pack. This was the time of newness and of rebirth. The time where pups would be born with their chibi like eyes and little mewling yelps for attention, and yet if this pack had any absence of them, or if it was crawling with them, it mattered non to me. While they may not be my favorite thing in the world, I do get along nicely with youngsters. I’d l;et them climb all around and over me, bite and chew and pounce on my tail and paws as much as they want. It’s a very rare soft spot that isn’t seen often by anyone. Besides that I’m all killer instinct and trained muscle. I can chase and run with the best of anyone, and I’d like to see anyone get the better of me in a fight. I was raised on how to deal the killing blow after all, as well as how to use my strengths to benefit my chosen pack once I found it.
Believe you me, I know how to pull m y own weight, and even am able to take up a good amount of slack from the others as well. It’s because I am strong, that I am able to pull this off without aftereffects. I’ve done it before and I am prepared to do so again in the future, after all there is always one wolf at least who gets sick or goes missing in action. I am always ready to take that extra work under my paws. Not only because I was raised to, but because I rarely got sick or hurt or lazy. Especially never lazy, it wasn’t me. My dark body is tensed as I wait, not expecting hostility but prepared for it, and all my systems are alert and prepped for an attack. After all it was a pack land, and you are never sure how they might react. Restlessness was beginning to creep in. Thoughts drifted to my cousin, and how I had caught his scent while wandering these lands. As well as his sister’s. She did seem to follow him wherever he went. I pity my poor cousin, after all his sister wasn’t the easiest girl to be around, she was quite a firecracker, and could get a temper as well.
I shake these thoughts off. A unknown pack’s border is not the place to get engulfed and drown in memories and monologue. I didn’t want to be caught unawares. Or even worse, be snapped out of it by a border patrol and thought of as someone with their head in the clouds. No, I will wait and see just what will unfold from my adventure today. It seemed that I hadn’t had to wait all too long. She came with peace and with a smile and that was what put me at ease. “You may call me Osiris. I was just out wandering…but I would like to see if you have a place here for one more?”It was my way of requesting a home, something I don’t yet have.
