Dark blue eyes met the pup’s own muddy browns as the teen stood, light shining behind her making her crimson coat shine golden. The pup spoke as his chills subsided, his voice sweet and adorable, like most pups’ voices were. As he pitifully asked if she was an angel, her face broke into a smile, her words flowing softly. ”No little one, I’m not an angel.” She nosed the grey and white pup, making sure he was fine, other than his tumble into the river. ”Are you okay?” She asked softly, rasping her tongue across his head gently. He spoke again and she frowned. ”I’m Kenina. I guess I get it. My mother left my father to raise us and now she’s back and trying to worm her way back in. But, if you want, I could take care of you.” It was a spur of the moment idea but she was sure she could take care of someone other than herself.

She smiled softly at the pup and moved to sit next to him. ”Where do you live, Zorion?” She asked softly. ”Because I was thinking that we could find ourselves a pack to live in. If you wanna live with me, that is.” She gave him a small, hopeful smile. She had taken a liking to the little guy. He was a fighter and she was too. And he had no parents and she was looking to get away from hers. She watched him nervously, her eyes wide.
