Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

The itsy bitsy spider crawled up the water spout
Down came the rain, and washed the spider out.

It had been too long since she had felt someone who really truly cared. Her mother, Atreyu, was gone. Her friends…disappeared. It was only her left and oddly she had embraced it. Stealthily did she stalk the rabbit, intent on taking it down to feed her starving body. When was her last meal…she did not know nor did she care really. Days bled into weeks, as weeks decomposed into months. Alone. Always alone.

Closer she crept until she was upon the quivering creature, her mouth parts as drool begins to pool causing her to lick her maw more than once. So close was she, the rabbit’s fear wrapped around her mind so snuggly, she almost missed the scent that flitted across her delicate senses. Yet it was not any scent, it was his. Hers. Her childhood protector and crush: Chance.

Head whips up as her prey scurries away, jaw snapping shut with a resounding snap. Red honey eyes zero in on him as she all but stomps his way, giving into the temper tantrum that bubbles within her. "HOW dare you look like HIM!!" She screams at the illusion that all but shimmers before her. He lay only a fox length away, his scent teasing her making her remember a past that tortures her. That haunts her living moments as well as her dreams. She was not worthy of a pack, of others. Alone. She was a spider, meant to spin her webs as the predator she was. Yet one had to admit that to taunt her with him was cruel. "Chance…my Chance." She begins to shudder, to shake as she attempts to stand still. Horror that a ghost dare play with her yet her heart hammers within her chest. Her eyes narrow as she takes a deep wheezing breath before she shakes her head. "Why Fate must you keep punishing me. Why?" She whispers piteously, sadness overwhelming in her golden optics.

"This is what his speech will look like"

Out came the sun, and dried up all the rain,
But you my dear were never seen again
