Loki stood still, but relaxed as the female circled him. His green eyes followed her movements, noting the sway of her hips. Well this could really be fun, he thought to himself. The darkness of their coats was quite similar. If not for the red marking hers, and the difference in their eyes, they might have been related. But Loki was not from these parts, having just come here. He was very certain that this was not where his parents were from, having run from any sign of his family. Or rather, having been chased out by his family. They had little time for him and his “useless pranks.” It wasn’t his fault that people occasionally got injured during his games. He didn’t make them play.


He smirked back as Jezebeth spoke, enjoying the edge that the other wolf seemed to have. He couldn’t quite place it – she was like no one else he had encountered before – but it was certainly more exciting than any of the wolves he had known before. They had been boring, more likely to scold him as if he were a pup rather than go along with his fun.


“Oh it’s always a pleasure to meet me. I’m sure you are just as much of one.”


He kept his tone light, with the same lilt to his voice as before. He raised an eyebrow as she spoke again.


“Now really, Jezebeth, I think wolves such as you or I know how to take care of ourselves, don’t we? Besides, a little danger makes the day less dull. And if you think it so dangerous to be here alone, then what are you doing here? Surely someone as striking as yourself shouldn’t risk harm.”


His tone was almost mocking in nature now, knowing full well that she at least appeared to be the type who could easily take care of herself.


He did love this game.
