The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Marx was by all means, a patient wolf, but this, this was unacceptable. Kershov would not appreciate a Commander whom could not control his soldiers nor enforce his alphas laws upon them. Autumnleaf stepped to him quickly and obediently and Marx nodded curtly at him, waited a few minutes and scented the wind. They were not coming and what scent he could smell was not recent of the others who had come to the first sparring session. Anger broiled beneath the surface, a growl uttering and beginning to roll out of his throat.

Autumnleaf, do you mind contributing to why you think your brothers in arms have not answered their commanders call?

Anger tinged his vocals, but he was not directing it willingly at the obedient one before him, he was simply confused as to why the wolves in his ranks couldn’t do even the simplest of tasks. The pack border had been breached not so long ago and a complete mess was made of the intruder’s capture and detainment. Even Fallancy had not reported anything as far as Marx knew, although Marx wasn’t dumb enough to think Kershov would share every little sliver of juicy gossip with him. He may be his Commander, but if anyone, Enigma would hear those secrets before he even got a taste. They weren’t necessary to him serving his king and it did not bother him one bit. Marx waited for Autumns answer, even if he had trouble providing one. After the brute was done talking, he looked into the emotionless eyes and stiff stance of Autumn and let crack a brief grin.

At-eaze soldier. You have acted loyally and I have already seen you spar and know your worth in a fight. I have no hesitation in promoting you to full duty.

Marx flicked his banner back and forth, registering any reaction Autumn gave off.

You will report to me at least once every seven days for the next two weeks, meaning a minimum of two reports is required. I want to know the comings and goings of the no mans land just beyond our border- I have reason to think another pack had recently spied on us and do not mean to allow them to gather more information than they already may have. You are to detain know pack wolves whom seem far too curious to know what’s going on in our pack and you are to bring them directly to me for interrogation.

He paused again for a few moments, letting it sink in before finishing his order.

You are to continue your normal duties as a soldier and patrol the borders for joining wolves and intruders as always. Any breaks in our security are to be dealt with appropriately and reported to me at once. Any questions?

Marx nodded, concluding his little speech, allowing his fellow pack member to speak up if he did indeed have a query.

[OOC: Your wolf has been officially given the task of anti-spy duty. You must post to Marx twice within the following two weeks reporting how many wolves have joined, left or intruded (and spied) on the pack for that week.]
