Young and restless, Texas roamed the lands of the Mountain aimlessly, a pair of spectacles perched on the end of his long snout. His fabric pouch hanging on his side held his book in which his dragon recorded each of events he came across. He hoped one day to have hundreds of books of the Mountain's history to have in his library, but for now it was just one, and not even half of it was full. Not yet. His dragon had only just began recounting everything he's learned so far in the book, and only did so at night so that Texas could go searching for more tales during the day.

Texas sighed, stopping to stretch his back and rest his paws when they arrived at the river. It was still early and there was a nip in the early morning air, though, clear skies promised a perfect spring day. His tail swayed as he dipped his head to lap at the water. He dropped to his elbows, lazily hanging his paw in the water, watching the ripples as they spread across the spall pool. He'd been meaning to pay his mentor, Toric a quick visit today but seeing as it was so nice, he had decided to explore instead. It was turning out to be a good choice, if he thought about it.

The small green dragon sat behind his master happily, bobbing his head up and down to a silent tune. His small wings tucked tightly to his sides. Rayven was smaller than Texas, and quite comfortably so. It had its perks, he'd decided. Hiding in small spaces, going unseen from the air, not having to hunch over to talk to others, small things that really havent shown their use quite yet. He also didn't have to bend over when walking through the forest, which he greatly appreciated nowadays now that Texas seemed to want to go... everywhere. He found himself most days walking around with a bottle of ink and a quill feather, following his master around and around, always prepared to record whatever Texas wished him to. He was quite content to do just that. When they finally arrived at the River, Ray took it upon himself to catch them each breakfast, heading into the river to hunt for some fish, leaving Texas to contemplate whatever went on in that funny head of his.
