Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

There would never be a day that she understood him. He'd always been there, even when she didn't want him there, and that was strange in itself. She'd been accustomed to being alone, even avoiding those that she had haphazardly considered her friends - Ava, Fathom, Rogue. Rogue had disappeared for the time being but it was understandable, what with the calamity that had occurred in Iromar or whatever. Still, she had to admit to herself that it was somehow nice to have the company of one she had known for so long, even if he had been missing in action for the better part of a year or so. Trust him to go missing and find her first thing on his return, though - she had to roll her eyes at that.

She narrowed her eyes at his word, finding an odd truth within them. He had been sent on some kind of mission, huh? How unusual that Heyel had not told her - did Azrael know? Maybe she'd been afforded the rank by accident, would that really be surprising? She wasn't an Angel, never had been and never would be no matter how much Heyel was convinced that her mother was. Malina was but the daughter of a warrior and a healer, lucky or pushy enough to had been trained but that hardly mattered either, anymore. Khaleesi was even more low than her and had been trained, too. So many... lies, that was what they were.

"For once, I think you're right. Maybe you should take the rank for it seems the great Heyel trusts you more than he does his own self proclaimed protege."

She shrugged, trying to make her voice more.. jesting than the obvious hurt she felt over the fact that she was, probably, correct. Missed him, though? Hah! She spat out her laughter, a hearty chuckle before she slid closer, leaning in within inches with a devious smirk.

"Of course I've missed you, oh my!"

She paused, starring at him wide eyed before leaning back and cackling once more, a brow sliding up expectantly.

"What with Azrael being tied up with his own little brats and whatnot, who has been here to mock me? To stand in my way and to attempt to throw me into the dirt every day? I've missed being belittled, oh yes."

Honestly, though, she'd missed the competition and company either way but he never had to know that. Same ways Azrael never needed to know that in her youth, she'd always wanted to impress him and stand as his Beta the day he became king. Such things were folly and unmentionable - she would keep her mouth shut on the matters until she no longer breathed. She noticed his silence, though, and she too remained as such, her lips pursed slightly as she simply starred out over the plateau before them. What? What was he doing? Thinking? Oh come on, when did he learn to do such a thing? She had to check if he was even still there - slowly, an ear slid back to face him and ah, he was still breathing at least. Maybe he'd fallen asleep? Sharply, she turned to face him once more, catching his eyes just as he spoke.

"Adopted? Bah - no! Though apparently I am not as fatherless as I once thought," she began, rolling her eyes and lashing at him with a paw - a friendly punch if you would, "But maybe it is worst than being adopted after all. I mean, we've both been raised to want to kill demons, right? Kill, kill, kill - no questions, just kill. Well, what if I thought that was silly? What if I had met alleged demons who were more honest and more... sense making than Heyel ever was? I mean, come on, what if we can help or change them rather than kill? We've just been... we've just been raised to be guns for hire. We're not supposed to think, just kill."

Her words ran fast, her eyes wider and wider as she hurried through her thoughts - hell, they probably didn't even make sense! She paused, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she caught her breath before she sighed.

"I just... I don't know anymore. I'm not an Angel so why am I supposed to act like one?"
