The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

A pup with fine, soft, and short fur the color of rust mixed with earth lay on the forest floor beside a particularly large tree trunk. His earth colored coat made it almost impossible to see him at first glance. Black splotches of fur dotted around his backside, and he had a single black splot on on his forehead, making him look like a metamorphic or sedimentary rock. Or, he looked like a rock until he woke up. Rocks don't move.

The faint scent of his mother hung around him. She obviously a abandoned him here. But why? For a better life, perhaps? The pup's, who's name is Nomni, golden eyes snapped open. Nomni glanced around the clearing. Hello? Mother? Where am I? He stood up and shook his fur, his russet ears plastered to his skull and his heart beating madly in his chest.

"Hello? Anybody? Tsu? Tsu!" Nomni howled. His fraternal twin, or his sister, Tsu, was gone. Her scent was nowhere to be found. Nomni sat down on the leafy foliage, defeated. Tsu! Tsu! Why would mother seperate me from Tsu?! Nonmi lifted his head to the clouds and howled feebly. Tsuuuuuuuuuu! I neeeed yoouuu! Nonmi dropped to the ground with his paws over his sandy eyes, sobbing hysterically. Get a grip, Nonmi! You can find Tsu or Mommy if you stay in one place! The pup scolded himself. He had a light, small frame, even for a pup, but was agile as well. Nomni stood up on his wobbly legs, his visage covered in wet grass and dirt. He sniffed the air. Wolves were in front of him. A lot of wolves, judging by the strength of their smell. Maybe they can help me! Nomni thought excitedly, running toward the scent. He was only three weeks old, barely old enough to eat solid meat. He didnt know that trespassing was wrong yet. Heck, his mother did it all the time, so it must not be wrong, right?
