The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Flash Flood: Part Two FINISHED, IN
IP: 76.243.46.249

{OOC: Okay guys, I forgot to check with ya'll to see if you were alright with me factoring in minor injuries to spice things up. Everything that follows this was decided by a random roll of dice. If you would rather not allow me to powerplay a little and decide how your wolife might get hurt, I completely understand and you are not required at all to play along with any injuries I have listed. Just ignore them if you choose and continue to react to the other portions of this scenario. Any questions can go on the OOC board! <333}

SUMMARY
Autumn does a wonderful job summoning the pack to his aid, wisely choosing to wait until help arrives before he risks his life attempting to accomplish the impossible.

Winn Dixie quickly responds to Autumn’s call and assesses the situation, coming up with a brilliant plan to begin digging trenches a hundred feet or so away from the overflowing river. Then she dashes off in order to round up any packmembers that may need assistance in escaping the dangerous flash flood—always thinking of the good of Abendrot.
After running off she finds the pup Dark Sun, who goes off in search of more pack members. Winn returns to keep digging trenches.

Aerten arrives on the scene soon after, just catching Winn’s instructions. She immediately starts digging a trench.

Enigma chooses a spot separate from Aerten’s and begins shredding up a fresh ditch, telling the others that multiple trenches will be needed in order to contain the river.

Ruhani dutifully takes a position across from Enigma, helping to dig her trench with her.

THE SCENARIO SO FAR:
Digging trenches has proven slightly successful. The trenches were a wonderful plan, but with so few wolves available it is not enough to guarantee Abendrot’s safety at this time. The trenches that the brave fighters ripped out of the earth bought time but are swallowed quickly by torrents of rain and massive gulps of wreckage-choked water. With a sound like shattering glass, raindrops mercilessly pelt the river until it slurs past the trenches and deeper into the forest, slowed now by the ditches and fragments of trees. Above, thunder roars violently through the heavens. Clouds press down on the atmosphere as if they were carved from solid blocks of obsidian. Distant explosions of lightning and harsh cracks by felled logs shake the air. The engorged river might not be the only thing Abendrot’s finest have to worry about . . .

INJURIES
Four Out of the five main wolves posted (not counting little Sun) were injured.
Autumn sustained a minor injury: Swirling concoctions of runny mud and rushing water have drug up a slew of debris—including sharp broken branches and twigs. A small chunk of driftwood scrapes against Autumn’s right hind leg just below the ankle, opening a shallow cut that bleeds freely as he works. This is by no means a life-threatening or even crippling injury, but Autumn may need to see a Healer when all this is over.
Winn Dixie also has a minor injury: Once she returns to continue digging, she encounters the same problem Autumn does with menacing floating debris. Her right forepaw skiffs against a twig buried in a soup of muck, opening a fresh cut in her middle digits. This is by no means a life-threatening or even crippling injury, but Winn may need to see a Healer when all this is over in order to avoid infection.
Enigma and Ruhani are merely scratched. Enigma tears one of her fore-claws on her right front paw as she digs, nothing serious but quite irritating. As Ruhani digs furiously to help Enigma, one of the claws on her left forepaw catches on a stone and tears a little, causing some discomfort that will probably worsen as the effects of adrenalin wear off.
