aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Leila’s body slithered through the discreet valley of Aurora Borealis, though it was not her business to do so she had decided to patrol across the borders. At any rate, she would be able to keep the wanderers company. She had declined from a pup she had encountered at the lake that was found in this land, Tyson had been both amusing and curious. The phantom chuckled as she recalled his boisterous domineer, he had been full of himself! Of course she did not mind this – as a pup she had bragged till the sun went down. It had all been true though, she had been the best at most things as a pup. She had offered the pup a chance to learn how to hunt. He had agreed. Leila knew he would not be capable of more than a baby rabbit but it was always convenient to acquire tactics and stealth from a younger age. It appeared that Tyson had not been taught a lot of it; he had waded through the water causing mayhem and discord. He had not been silent at all. Leila had been glad he had accepted - it would be enjoyable for both of them.

She stopped, sniffing the air with attentiveness. A young scent, Leila distinguished as she crept towards the border. Who was it? The phantom dawdled after the border, fiery optics perusing her surroundings and absorbing the information with promptness. She paused, her eyes wavering over into the distance where a small physique stood quivering. A smile crossed her maw, what a sore sight. Gently she trailed towards him; quiet but not purposely. The silent phantom did not wish to cause this pup worry – he did not seem to be similar to Tyson who was full to the brim with bubbles.

The spectre’s eyes crossed the pup, he was a small grey wolf with a white chest but what caught her attention were his vibrant green eyes. He appeared to be the same age as Tyson – which would please him as Leila recalled the question of other pups in the terrain. He smelled, however, strongly of anxiety, fear mingling into his fragrances. Her expression was lace with gentle concern and she felt a compelling pull to comfort the weakling. Leila shook the thought away and bowed towards his level. He seemed sweet but extremely unsettled. She pitied his fear and sadness.

“Hello,” she whispered in a lilting voice. “Have you arrived to join here?” Her voice was soft and what she hoped as soothing. Her orange eyes observed with worry as she awaited his reply.
