PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

"By rule; by honor."

long ago we were once immortal, and free.
For a long time, the cliffs and slopes of the great slate mountain had been hers and hers alone, with not a single soul wandering through the passes to greet or welcome her- she was completely and utterly alone. Irvosat heard the echoes of her own hooves as that clattered across the shale that spread across the mountain, and when she called out she was answered with little more than her own voice calling back in a lonely matter. This is why she had taken to the commons, where the fields and forests were full of other horses, some that she had hopes would be willing to accompany her back to the paradise in the mountains.

When the grullo had called out across the rocky face of the peak, Irvosat had thought that she had misheard the sound, that it was an old echo from her own throat that sought her out and found her while she was standing at a cliff's edge. She had thought that it had been a sound that had taken it's time in finding her ears, but upon seeing another living, breathing soul that seemed to live in the peak just as she had taken to living here, she was relieved. It had been a long while since she had seen someone here- in fact, if she were to dig through her memory, she would find that she had never seen another living being here. Let alone a mother and her child!

As Mouse comes to her, accepting the small exchange of breath that was common for their culture, the smallest breath of a one-sided smile falls across her face, as if she was finally accepted into the dwindling ranks of the peak. “My name is Irvosat.” She says softly in reply to Mouse's introduction.

At the mention of others, Irvosat swings her ears forwards and screws up her face in puzzlement. Certainly they must have all left by the time she had gotten here, or she would have seen them, right? Shifting her weight and thinking for a moment, she wonders if perhaps she had seen a ghost of a body wandering through the tall pines and firs, or is perhaps she had seen someone in the distance drinking at a creek that stood half way down the mountain. “No... I've been here for a while now, and I've seen no one.” She pauses to think of the mare that had been the reason for the painted woman's slight limp and the annoying stinging ache in her leg. “There was one mare, that was taken by a man- I won her freedom, but I haven't seen her or anyone else.”
