News 03.28.20

Get with me if you want to move up in rank. I'm going to change up the pack tasks for a little change of pace.

Congratulations to Adrian on her promotion to Governess. She will handle the guidance and teaching of our young pups in Iromar.

If you have a ^ next to your name, that means you're up for promotion so see me or send me a message on Discord so we can see where to move you. All others interested in specializing or getting a rank, let me know so we can figure out how to make that happen.

The pack board has been updated. If you wanted to remain a member, let me know either on here or Discord and I'll get you back on the board. Otherwise, let's have a thread!

I know I had a couple replies for the training with Spirane so I will be starting that thread soon. Stay tuned!

I am still working on an alliance with Diveen and Asteraia so stay tuned. If you have any information or would like to help, please let me know. If anyone has any ideas to promote activity within the pack, also, let me know. I am open for plots and such! Meanwhile, thank you all for your continued support of the pack.

It did not take long for the call which I gave to be answered, a female of dark and red moving with pride from the land of mist and fog to place herself before me, though she uttered no word, merely inclined to quietly seat herself. I allowed my violet gaze to appraise her a moment, noting indeed the red hue of her lip though choosing to say nothing on it, waiting for her to announce herself, to offer some indication of who she was, for indeed, I have never met this Ishtar- I know not what she looks like and though perhaps she boasts this moniker of ‘blood mouth’ such titles are often given to be deceiving and I should not be inclined to simply guess or assume the one before me is such a creature if that is given to be incorrect. The female however, gave nothing, no indication of rank nor title, choosing to sit silently and no more. If I have not met the Alphess and she gives no indication to whom she is, how is it that I can be knowing? She acted as a pack wolf and as such, I greeted her as one. My head dipped in a nod of greeting, polite and nothing more, assuming indeed that the female was no more then one charged with patrolling the borders before my attention moved to a creature possessing of obvious dominance, a male, indicating he cannot be Alpha in this regard and yet one whom I do believe I have seen before, one whom had displeased Heyel- though of my father’s displeasure I see fit not to comment. He is displeased the majority of the time and if I allowed such inflictions upon myself I would surely have no time left for any pleasant feelings. He to, this Andras- was greeted as a wolf of the pack, head nodding in recognition of his arrival though his look upon Azrael was not missed. Males are a most curious species ad I am inclined to believe, were it permissible, they would simply fight constantly.

The next to arrive was a female of short stature and apparently temper, my tail flicking with some mild displeasure at her sharply spoken command, the thick, white plume brushing against both Katsumi and Fathom in turn before a nod of greeting was given. Both were young indeed and yet, each female was upon the brink of entering her prime, both were scouts of my pack and as such I am given to trust within them to my own safety and trust indeed that they will do as scouts are trained, use their eyes and ears to see and hear all they can in these moments in which we sit in the presence of Iromar. Young, yes, but so am I and few would dare question my place, the females either side of myself having already proven loyalty and skill, Azrael presence enough to deter any who may be inclined to start what is not needed. Perhaps they believe myself foolish to have brought scouts instead of warriors- yet I see no foolishness in having to beside me who will look freely into the pack land and those who come from it and remember all. I did not yet speak, as I was apparently commanded to do by she whom I can only assume is the Alphess, for only she has shown any indication of such, aside from the male, though why he positions himself higher then she I cannot say, frowning slightly in contemplation of this before a final wolf chose to emerge, a near-grown child who had met with some mishap, a look of surprise pertaining the beauty of my features a moment as I regarded him. Was he quite alright? He seemed to have fallen in something. Perhaps then, the story of Baphomt’s death is not so hard to believe, unstable ground and difficult visibility apparently often resulting in the wolves of Iromar falling into things. How….unfortunate. Why would they not consider moving there pack land? Do they not fear for the pups to be raised here? Then again, we teach the children of Diveen to scour cliff faces from an early age, to race and play and understand the danger all at once of the open plain, perhaps it is the same within iromar…though it would seem the poor boy did not learn very well.

I remained silent as Azrael spoke to the child in question, a momentary smile touching with delicate ease to my lips and nothing more, though wether an indication of humour or merely a passing thought cannot be said before my Brotehr moved to speak to my ears alone, his latina a smooth and lilting sound that held the beauty of his features within this darker place. I felt surprise once more linger, violet gaze widening. That was why they did not speak? Some silly presumption of rank? How was it they were given to get anything done if they were forever waiting for those perceived inferiors to speak first? What occurred at a pack meeting? Did Ishtar merely sit in silence and offer no words with which to conduct such business? The foolishness of such a thing was encompassing to my mind. Many do not share our ways and indeed, each pack is given to hold traditions and values all their own, this I am respecting and this I am trying, always, to understand though perhaps this is one law that I will never be given to see value within. All are permitted to speak, rank is not defined by words or lack thereof, rank, perhaps, will dictate how much the words of one are given to be listened to, the sway they are given to have. Yet any, from the smallest of newborn pups to my Heyel, Devil or my Kane has the right to speak when they feel they must be heard. Perhaps it is no wonder Iromar dwindles. Are the wolves of this pack so disrespected by their Alpha that she feels the need to remind them, in every moment, of her superiority by glaring upon them until they speak? If that is there way, so be it- but it is not my own and I see no dishonour, no submission in speaking for myself- perhaps Ishtar fears that, but I have no shame in my own words as she clearly does. I turned first to she who had spoken (Lil), words smooth, calm, easy and yet assured.

“If I am having the decency to respect you, small one, within your own land, to greet you as befits your rank- then should you not be showing the same respect to one above you? If I can manage such decency, then surely you may be managing this too, no? I am not within your lands and I, nor mine, will not be given to be commanded as such. If you speak for your Alphess, then let it be known though I should like to think that this- Ishtar, is being capable of speaking for herself.”

There was no impoliteness, no hidden jest or tease, the words were merely as intended, a chiding in one way and yet, given respectfully all the same. If I, Queen of Moladions largest pack can step down to greet her politely, then surely she, by this notion, can be stepping up and acting with dignity instead of childishly demanding I pay her attention. No- that is not the Alphess. If Azrael’s whispered words are true, then the Alphess, by my notion and understanding of this foolishness would be she who has said nothing, though why she forces her subordinates to speak for her I do not know, what does she seek to prove with such tiresome tirade? I paused a moment, Azrael’s final words given a nod of understanding, violet gaze flickering with a moment of amusement at that which was said, another moment of pause offered to allow Fathom and Katsumi a moment to speak, to introduce themselves if they desired before I inclined my head to the red and black female who sat in silence towards the end, a feeling of foolishness once more moving within myself. I felt not as if I talked to an Alphess, indeed, I felt as if I spoke to an insolent child whom had decided to stick forth her lower lip and refuse to speak, paws folded in agitation while I, the patient parent, attempted to coax words from a petulant youth who needed to be guided in this knowledge. So be it. I will not be restrained by pettiness in this instance. I turned to Ishtar.

“I am Isola, Queen of Diveen and it is being to my understanding that you are now ruling this land of Iromar, that you are Ishtar?”

I paused a moment, waiting for some indication of this, though I did not believe my logic faulty as Azraels, though truly I believe my brother was merely inclined to have me address the wrong wolf on purpose for the sake of his amusement. We shall speak of that later, brother.

“These are my wolves, Fathom and Katsumi, my true-born brother, Azrael. We are hearing of the passing of Baphomet and indeed I am being sorry for that which you have lost, I was not seeing so, how you say, eye to eye? With this Baphomet, but the loss of an Alpha, a father and pack mate is still being a most difficult thing.”

I am not so filled with hate for a creature who brought pain upon us that I cannot express some understanding of that which they felt.

“But it is being for this reason I have come. Baphomet is no longer Alpha within these lands, he and I were not agreeing but, perhaps he is not as you, perhaps there may be at least that which is civil between Iromar and Diveen. I do not seek alliance, for I am knowing that you surely are not wishing to give this thing- what I am seeking is perhaps treaty, understanding. I am wishing to ask for an agreement, that Iromar will not steal from Diveen and that we in turn, will not take what is yours. This is all I ask, if you are willing to be hearing it.”

Baphomets greed had nearly brought his pack to destruction. I had not allowed my wolves to descend upon it, though perhaps I should have. Diveen is greatest of all packs, Spirane will also answer our call and we theirs, Iromar did not and still does not have the numbers to hold any war against us, perhaps Ishtar will see the sense in this. I have no need of war though never, never will I allow what is mine to be taken again, such benevolence was abused and will not be offered freely any longer.

PACK RANKS

Monarch
Pretty simple, Alpha of Iromar. Ultimate authority. What I say, goes.
Chief
The 'Co-Alpha'. He is her equal and has all the same authorities as she does. He is be respected and can take challenges and block steals.
Deputy
The Beta of Iromar. The most trusted wolf under the Alpha. Has all the same authorities of the Monarch in her absence. Second in command. Can block steals and take challenges.
Council
The advisor to the Monarch. One who's wisdom is often sought in matters of politics and war. Not necessarily an elder but someone the Monarch looks up to.
Trooper
The head warrior of Iromar. Shows the most skill in combat and has experience to back it up. Trains the soldiers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Stalker
The head hunter of Iromar. Shows the most skill in hunting and providing for the pack. Tasked with leading pack hunts and teaching the pups of the pack at designated times. Trains the hunters and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Medic
The head healer of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine. Tasked with checking on the Monarch/Deputy after a challenge and also keeping up with mothers around birthing time. Trains the healers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Envoy
The head diplomat in Iromar. Skilled in matters of politics and conversation. Intelligent and witty, this wolf keeps the pack together as one while reaching out to potential allies for support. Council is their direct supervisor. Trains the diplomats and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Governess
The guardian of offspring in Iromar. Skilled as a warrior and alert as a scout, this wolf is tasked with probably one of the most important jobs in Iromar, protecting the future of the pack and Moladian. They can watch the litter while the parents are off doing tasks, hunting, or just enjoying some quiet time. Can serve as guides for the pups, like having a full time guardian. Trains the teachers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Snoop
The head spy in Iromar. Skilled in maneuverability and blending in, this wolf must be a shadow when called upon. Tasked with finding out information about other packs or wolves when called upon, this wolf must be quick as well as witty, able to make anyone believe anything. Also serves as a thief when the need arises. Trains the spies and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Chronicler
The head story teller of Iromar. This wolf has done their research on all things Iromar and Moladian. They can give a good history lesson or spin a tale on demand when the younger minds call for distraction. Able to captivate an audience. May even help with speeches for the Monarch when necessary. No one to train but the pups or even adults of Iromar when they have questions or curiosity about the past. This wolf may even be called upon by the Council at times. Can block steals.
Soothsayer
The seer of Iromar. This is a special rank made specifically for a wolf with "the sight." Consider her an advisor/spy of sorts for the alpha and rest of the pack. She/he can gather intel from outside or supernatural forces. You don't have to believe in the magic of this ability for any wolf with this rank will be respected as a ranked member of the pack. Can block steals.
Warriors- Members of the Iromar army. Skilled in combat and overseen by the Trooper.
Hunters- Providers for Iromar. Skilled in scavenging and hunting.
Healers- Doctors of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine for those in need.
Diplomats- Extroverts of Iromar. Skilled in politics and overall conversation.
Spies- Scouts and thieves of Iromar. Skilled in blending in and masking themselves when called upon.
Teachers- Guardians of the youth of Iromar. Skilled in defense and culture. They shape the young minds of the future.
Children-The pups of Iromar. To be cherished as they are precious for the future of the land. Shape them and mold them into something we can all be proud of.
Members- Overall pack members of Iromar. Not specialized in a particular field yet but just as important to the population.
