At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Mae smiled softly at her friend as he explained to her what had happened. He was still terribly worried over losing his adopted mother, the femme Mae had yet to meet but who’d been a constant in Terrel’s life since he was a pup. “Terrel,” she spoke in soft lyrics, “though I can’t help with the stress your memories cause you, I can remind you that Channing obviously cares for you. I’ve said before that she’s raised you, something she doesn’t regret if she continued to do that. What is it that makes you think you’re going to lose her?” The grey femme wasn’t sure why he still thought that, but maybe if she were able to understand his thoughts it might help. Perhaps it was something other than Channing choosing to turn her back on him that had him worried. She knew he worried about Henadin, but she didn’t understand exactly what it was about the male that made him worry so much.

Mae’s slight worry was forgotten as the subject moved to the lesson on the healing properties of herbs that Moth had given. Kahlan and Swordfighter had also been present, though she’d not stayed long enough to exchange any amount of talking that could be called a conversation. Nonetheless, it had been pleasant to meet another member of the pack, Swordfighter, and she was glad he seemed to be as friendly as the rest of them. It’d also been fun to catch up with Kahlan. As far as she knew, the femme and her brother were still the newest members of Saw Tooth. Though Henadin was involved in Terrel’s current anxiety over his mother, the brute’s sister was a joyful femme who Mae had met on a couple of occasions.

The slender wolf returned her gaze to Terrel as he spoke again, inquiring the likelihood of another lesson going ahead. “I’m sure Moth’ll hold more lessons,” she grinned, “There were only three of us present when I left, and she didn’t cover anywhere near the amount of plants I know grow in the territory, let alone around the forest. Perhaps we can ask her to hold another lesson sometime.” When the brute pressed his nose against her muzzle, Mae nudged him back in a friendly gesture, before he dipped his head to the water. She surveyed the lake as he drank, observing the wolves she’d avoided on arrival in her search for her friend. It was a pleasant day, the sun providing a gentle glow across all in cast its rays on, and many seemed to be taking advantage of the pleasant weather to meet at the lake’s edge. “I’m glad spring is here,” her fond tone conveyed her positive feelings for warmer weather, her relaxed posture revealing a content frame of mind.
