aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

It was late afternoon, the sun’s rays bleeding down onto the terrain with no mercy. However, it was not incredibly hot; breezes here and there helped to even out the temperature. Anything that was not sleeping, eating, or grazing was certainly in the shade, enjoying the cool breath of the occasional breeze. Aurora was currently active with wolves, newer ones overrunning the ranks with a few older members and two or three members that had been around for an ideal amount of time. One of them was a black vixen, born from the deepest of shadows of the dark, and residing there ever since. Discovering someone who loved both types of day and loved her, she made herself live in the sun from time to time just so she could live with her love both times of day. Currently, she layed down under a tree, eyes closed and not in any direct line from the sun. She had even dug a hole to lie in since it was colder in the dirt. She was enjoying this time of day, even if she was indeed out in the middle of the day, somewhat out in the open due to her black pelt. She found that if it got any hotter than this, she would retreat back to the depths of her and Glitch’s den and sleep till nightfall.

The vixen’s mate had recently surprised her with a new member of their family. Fyr was such a cheerful pup, bounding around in the sun whenever she got the chance. Well, the fae thought she would be doing this, for she hadn’t seen her mate for her pup since she had greeted her. Of course she tried to spend some family time with her loved ones, but they were quite as of late, and she had orders to take care of. From a recent trip to Munashii Gekko, the fae found herself sitting under this tree, enjoying the sun before it got too hot. She always enjoyed time with just herself, nothing but silence as a companion. However, she always needed a certain amount of time to bond with pack members. There had been so many new members, she didn’t have any time to meet them. She had gone to Munashii a first time then ate up time. When she got back, she needed to help with a pup named Tyson. He was nearly dead and she had a goat she was going to share. This had brought her to Munashii again that ate up even more time than her last trip because she had gotten a response...

As she sat under the tree thinking about how she was going to meet some of her pack mates before the pack meeting, a howl erupted into the air, tasting with the sound of her beta, King Kong. She flicked an ear, listening to the contents written inside the howl. He was calling for a wolf she hadn’t heard of, Tyson, and her own child. She thought she had heard Kalgalath talking about a training hunt for the pups. She also thought she heard a detail in the eruption about any other wolf may join if they wanted to. Kong would need help if he wanted to show the pups of the pack how to take down an elk or a moose or an animal similar. Plus, she would have to tell him that Fyr was not currently within Aurora Borealis boundaries, she the vixen rose herself from the ground, stretching before she started to walk towards the howl. She stayed within the shadows, not wanting the bright sun to get into her eyes that were not yet used to an afternoon sun. She shook herself, dirt that had stuck to her pelt when she sat down now flying off and continued. She was thankful that her pack lands did not have a lot of areas with brambles, so she could walk freely without getting a snag.

She came across a pool of water she had never seen before and sniffed it. Lapping some of it up, the vixen realized she was thirsty. A bird flew overhead, flying high into the skyline before the fae made her way to Kong. She found that Tyson was already there. “Hello, Kong. It is a pleasure to see you again since the pack meeting; I am glad I am getting the chance to get to know you better.” She turned down towards the pup at her feet. When she first saw him, he was more a pile of bones than anything, and the vixen was glad to see that his stomach was at an appropriate size. “I am also glad to see you again, Tyson, now well fed. Have you been eating well?” The fae meant it as a rhetorical question and looked back to Kong. “I am sorry to say that I do not think Fyryra is going to make it to this hunt; she had been quite. However, even though I am her mother and am not with her, it would be my pleasure to serve in this hunt as an example.” She nodded and sat, still in the shade but not as noticeably.
