At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

If you are not yourself, then who are you?

The sun was shining bright in the sky, birds singing their songs of longing. It wasn’t too hot for a summer day, the sun providing just enough heat to provide in gentle activity or a small hunt. Light paws traced the ground, following the scent of the wind to who knows where. They were cream colored, a light sand contrasting over any terrain. A pair of the same colored auds flickered between the dense forest. This vixen looked between the ferns with a green gaze, flickering in and out of sight. This lupine came out of the forest, not liking hiding anyway. She was new to this forest, still experiencing the new scents on the breeze and the new terrain underfoot. The fae was still trying to find her way around the giant claimed forest, just finding her pawsteps somewhere new every time she looked up. Her green eyes searched for something new, something she hadn’t seen before. She smiled and continued to walk farther into the trees.

A bramble snagged on her pelt and she jerked backward, untwining it from her pelt before she continued forward. She had just traveled from her home farther south from here. Unlike other wolves who came to Blossom Forest, her life as a child was normal. Her family was sane, they encouraged her to succeed in life; anything a real family was supposed to do. However, the fae got all the love and structure in the world, and yet, she still felt herself growing distant from her family. She went on walks by herself, found herself hunting alone in the middle of the day, and somewhat doing stuff on her own. Nevertheless, she always needed a refreshment of wolves from time to time. She stopped and looked into the air, taking a break from her memories as a child and examining the sun above her. It blinked down to her to send her its best wishes, and the femme scented the air once more. It smelled more like light water than light air.

She traveled farther into the forest, glancing around the area in search of something. She twitched her ears, suddenly realizing there was a sound of running water in the background. She tilted her head, green gaze focusing on nothing for a moment while she listened. The fae walked forward into the brush, walking faster than before. This would be the first landmark she had seen in awhile. The brush started to thin and and then disappear altogether as she looked down and saw a line of rocks creating a sort of falls that sent the water down into oblivion. She smiled, realizing now that she was thirsty. She bent down to the water, her creamy pelt glinting into the sunlight. She lapped up the water gently, then retreating backward at the taste. It was light mountain water, and it tasted perfect. She smiled, and looked up again.

She lowered herself to the ground, looking around the terrain with her green gaze. Wrapping her tail around her paws, she raised her head and looked around. This would make for a nice spot for the rest of the day, and she was glad that she could finally relax and listen to the sound of the water running over the rocks. What she didn’t, however, do was prepare herself in case another wolf came across her. Nevertheless, she sat quietly and watched the water magically roll over the stones.
