aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

They had travelled from one packland to the next under the cover of the night, though the bright light being reflected off of the moon granted plenty of illumination to both see and be seen. Various other creatures were awake within the night – the owls that were flying overhead, the snakes that rustled the leaves while slithering through them… but Aindreas was oblivious to all of their motions, for he was focused upon the path that he was on. His nares were continually flared, but he was so keened into the scent of the tall grey titan that they were traveling toward that it was as if there was a path drawn for him to follow. Though they were heading to Magic’s pack, Aindreas found himself leading the way. He would not follow another like a pup or like a stranger would. He was no stranger to Kalgalath and his lies. Though the mottled grey titan had apparently fooled all of those within his pack, Aindreas knew better. He knew the truth about Kalgalath.

His icy gaze travelled untrustingly toward the fae who was his complete opposite. An ebony coat to his ivory pelt. Amber eyes to his arctics. She was Kalgalath’s new pawn, while he himself was Kalgalath’s old. Kalgalath’s protégée. He would be the false “Alpha’s” undoing as he exposed all of the truths. The snowy titan couldn’t get there fast enough, and yet he dreaded the moment when he would finally come face to face with him. His haunches pushed off the ground harder, lengthening his stride – he didn’t bother to glance back to see if the fae had been able to keep up. Aindreas had no need for her. The scent of a pack land flared up in his nares, and the brute snorted, disgusted by the scent. He associated Kal’s scent with the day he had found it leading out of the pack land and out of his life. I will take the lead now. Aindreas whipped around to focus upon the fae, a growl rumbling up from his chest, irritated at the fae’s interruption in his forward motion. Still, he hung back ever so slightly so that he was travelling parallel to her shoulder, only slightly behind her so that she was technically in the lead. There was no reason to dispute it – she would not be in his way. However, he kept his stride long, forcing the fae to up her pace if she wanted to continue leading the way.

The fae led him through the packland, and Aindreas continually swept his surroundings with both his nares and his auds, searching for any approaching lupines. He did not want to be ambushed – which, surprisingly, he wasn’t. Instead, Magic led him to a clearing and let loose a howl which was, no doubt, for Kalgalath’s presence. Though she sat upon the earth, Aindreas stood instead, constantly alert. He would not be caught off guard. The white titan stiffened and prepared himself for the meeting that was about to occur.
