aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

To Hellene’s relief, Leila smiled upon seeing her, her plume swaying to and fro quickly. Her head raised to watch Hellene’s approach, and Hellene’s own plume started to wag, though she was much more demure than she had been yesterday due to Kalgalath’s warning. His words were still echoing him her head. Or you will have a real reason to quake when I approach. The russet and grey fae wanted to get on the Alpha’s good side – this was the pack that she had chosen to be her new home. She wanted the pack to be her new family, and wanted Kalgalath to trust her. She had thought that the best way to start showing that she was trustworthy was to befriend Leila, and Chiron had agreed. The blackened femme seemed to be resistant to Kalgalath’s anger, and seemed to be a calming factor when she was in his presence. Hellene did not know the pack very well and did not know what their relation was, whether she was simply his friend, or if she was something more to him. But what Hellene did know is that Leila would be a good lupine to be friends with.

She approached Leila rather shyly, which was strange for Hellene, a contradiction her normal personality. Hey, will you sit with me? I could do with some company and you seem an interesting wolf. However, at Leila’s words, Hellene’s normal personality began to burst back out. She curled her haunches underneath herself, her plume swirling around her paws. “I’m not sure ‘interesting’ is the word that Kalgalath would use to describe me. More like ‘untrustworthy’ or ‘defector’. He didn’t seem to be a big fan of me. But as for company, I could do with some company as well. I came here because I wanted to find a pack that would become my new family… and I feel like I got off on the wrong foot. I’m not the easiest wolf to get along with, I know… but…” Hellene turned her ambers away from the fae and just glanced at the nature around her. It was so quiet and peaceful, completely at odds with the internal turmoil that was wreaking havoc on her mind. She had left her only family in order to find a new family. She had betrayed her pack by leaving, but she felt betrayed by her sister, who had left her. Hellene had always been like Athene’s shadow, speaking for Athene and always have Athene to protect her. Though they had originally split off from their childhood pack together in order have a new start, Hellene had finally figured out that she needed a new start of her own. That was why she was here.

You must note that Kally… Kalgalath isn’t so big and scary really. He may be large and he may have a stare that would startle even the strongest of wolves but when you get to know him, he’s fun. And better yet, I have watched him from the near beginning of his reign and he had brought this pack up from the dust. Hellene found herself staring wide-eyed at Leila – she had referred to the brute as ‘Kally’. Hellene could not ever imagine called him such a foolish name, and knew that she had definitely made the right choice in trying to befriend this fae. So don’t judge him just based on that meeting, he was just being a bit stupid – probably was tired. I trust you; you don’t seem to be someone who would leave your home without reason but anyway, change of subject – how long have you been in Blossom Forest? Hellene once more was gape-mouthed. Leila had referred to his behavior as ‘stupid’. Was the fae that comfortable around him?

I cannot believe that you trust me so easily – I understand more why he would not. But my sister and I… well we came here a while ago. We stayed on our own for a long while. She… well she wanted a pack. And I didn’t, I wanted it to just be the two of us, but I went along with it. But then she abandoned me there, and no one at Spring Grounds tried to be my friend. That is why I left there, and why I am here.
