Erys was delighted; there was even a little bounce in her step. Her brother was alive! Alive and well! It was like someone had taken pity on her and decided to give her leniency. Having Paldor back brought a spark back to Erys, a twinkle in her eye. Well, there would be if her utterly white eyes could show anything but blankness.

It was with this blind joy that Erys found herself in a part of the crater she had never been. So different from the river and scattered trees that she was accustomed to. But still beautiful nonetheless. A lake was ahead of her, maybe a hundred yards or so, and the sand around her seemed to stretch on for miles. It was cold from the season, yet there seemed to be no snow here. Unlike the eastern side of the crater.

Noticing how utterly alone she was again, Erys stopped. In a circle she spun and put out sigh ran past her lips. Annoying was what this constant solidarity was. The thought for warmth crossed her mind so she trotted over to where the sun seemed to shine the brightest; here the sand was warmer than other places. Contenting herself to laying down in the spot, Erys waited to see who would happen upon her.
