I get to my paws, pricking my ears to the sound of a new voice calling for his subjects. This voice is unfamiliar to me and I shift in discomfort, my eyes flitting to the sleeping form of Cobryn. Could this be the male that fought Sinopa and SilverTongue for the throne? I hear his name is Tarquin and he is not like other wolves. He has chosen a male for his mate. Odd, but I won't judge, not yet anyway. Let me see what he is made of first, him and his "mate." I trudge slowly over to Cobryn, my form a little less graceful with my bloated stomach. This will be my first litter, or what I would consider my first. I don't count the half starved bunch I gave birth to in the tundra, the ones that didn't make it past one week. They couldn't survive the cold. This will be different though. Cobryn is here to help me take care of them. He wanted this, he needed this. I was willing to give it to him. He will be a wonderful father, I have no doubt. I nuzzle at his cheek, licking his forehead as my green and blue eyes glimmer with new hope and a little eagerness to meet the new leader.
"Cobryn, love, the new alpha is calling." Feeling a little playful, I even dare to nip at his nose lightly before I hop away, or at least as much of a hop as I can do at the moment. My tail wags behind me, the broken section healing. It still aches sometimes but it's mostly healed and yes, I did take the time to straighten it. I lope easily toward the meeting, taking my time as my condition will allow. At some point, I have to slow down to a walk though cause all the rocking motion makes me feel a little queasy plus my stomach keeps bouncing around and it's mighty uncomfortable. Sighing in defeat, I resume walking but I slow down when I hear voices, my ears pricking. D'Mani is there. I don't know much about her but I know that Weylin trusted her. She seemed to be a wolf of few words but she was there for the pack, loyal and that means something. The next voice I hear is Everchime. I don't know much about her but she was always around with a cub or two so when she mentions that she was a nanny, this doesn't come as a shock to me. I hear Mortz, the son of Weylin next. He still has a ring of grief in his voice that makes my ears flick back for a moment. He must miss his father terribly. He wants to be a warrior. I smirk a little, a lone ear flicking back toward Cobryn, wondering what path he would want to take. An unfamiliar male voice answers him, telling him that he will train him once he's healed. I take a whiff of the air and my eyes flash with uncertainty when I smell blood, old blood but blood none the less. This must be the male who fought for the pack. Then who is the male who called for us? His 'mate' perhaps? How odd. This will take some getting used to. I hear a female voice then introducing herself as Alana. My nose wrinkles up in confusion at first. I don't remember an Alana, but then she mentions that she joined after Weylin's death. Ah, that explains it. Next the familiar voice of Sinopa rings out, telling Makism that she was head healer. She was a quiet wolf too but she is kind hearted and she knows her stuff. She is a daughter of the former alpha of Trenus, Heyel, who now resides under his other daughter Isola, queen of Diveen now. The family is large and is known for the assassin blood in their veins. I'm sure Sinopa has made them proud. She fought for the pack and lost though just fighting is worth some respect. I didn't want power and neither does Cobryn so neither of us had reason to fight but it was honorable of her to try. I hope she knows that. Another voice arrives, the voice of Pan, Weylin's brother. He took his time getting here but I'm sure he had his reasons. Probably still grieving over his brother's death. He greets the two strangers by name so now I know both of their names. Makism and Tarquin. I wonder which is which. Another arrives, an unfamiliar female though her voice sounds powerful. She was born with authority in her voice and it makes my body stiffen, the inner Beta in me rising to defend its place even though we are all rankless now technically. This should be interesting. She says her name is Pheonix and I'm sure to memorize it for later. I smell another arrive but no voice goes with it. Curious, I finally step out of the bushes, holding myself high no matter the way my belly rocks side to side with every step. I wear the pregnant glow with pride. I find the eyes of the black male on the rock, dipping my head to him in respect as is due for his rank. Next I find the other male, the one so close that he must be the 'mate.' I dip my head to him as well. I find a spot on the edge of the clearing and sit down since I can't really say I'm close to any of the wolves present. I didn't get a chance to get to know them before Weylin's death. It's only been me and Cobryn till now but I'll get used to it. I'm a pack wolf at heart, always have been.
"I am Enigma. I was voted in as Quarter Master under Weylin but I intend to earn my rank this time. Welcome to Glorall." My two toned gaze searches for my other half as my voice quiets, searching for my mate, the one who makes me whole. My tail curls around my flanks as I make myself comfortable, ears attentive for the meeting to come. Let the games begin.
