Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Elowen was actually very intrigued by this man, who claimed to be lonely but who seemed determined to be alone. It piqued her curiosity and she wondered what it was about the male that kept other away. He was certainly handsome enough to garner attention, though his way of going about being charming was rather flamboyant, further proved by his next statement about her looks. Her eyes rolled at his blatant attempts at winning her over, but rather than removing herself from his company she finally mirrored his actions and sat. It couldn’t hurt to amuse herself with his antics for some time.

”That’s my family you’re speaking of,” she said with a small smile upon her lips. “I once thought them cruel, but in my time away, I’ve come to realize that they likely had their reasons for what they said and did.” This statement, though rather cryptic, was much more than Elowen typically revealed to a stranger. However, her suspicion towards Loki was fading and she saw him more as a joker than malicious. Perhaps she would be wrong about him, but for the time being she trusted her instincts.

Her smirk returned as he mentioned that no one had convinced him to join a pack. “Surely you would be able to decide for yourself where you belong and do not need convincing?” Her voice took on a teasing quality as she became slightly more comfortable with conversation. “However, it is difficult to make such a decision when so few seem to venture outside of the pack borders to recruit. I myself have only met a member of one pack, and she did not stay long enough to tell me much more than it was alongside the sea.”

Elowen suspected Loki might not be letting on all that he knew about the packs, but it didn’t bother her much. She was perfectly content to take her time getting to know which packs had which reputation, and contrary to what the male thought she would likely not be opposed to the idea of a powerful pack herself. Having little real strength to offer herself, she would appreciate extra muscle around her along with the pack’s reputation of being potent.
