News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

Why is he scowling at me like that? Seriously, what is his problem? First he doesn’t want me to fix his hair, then he’s going on and on about the stupid trees. I am trying to make his life easier, I am trying to help him, to make sure nobody thinks he’s a freak and that he grows up like Guardian and Meryl and is just- normal, but no. He seems utterly determined to be difficult about it. If the trees are yelling at him though and the birds are calling him names or whatever silliness he seems to be convinced off then why doesn’t he just stop listening? Honestly if he stopped listening he’d stop hearing and really, as a male, we are born with the ability to just stop listening, we have to, otherwise we would never have any mates because quite honestly to keep your mate happy you have to have the ability to listen to all the boring things they talk about like, say, what they did with their day. Now it’s not that I don’t care, because quite frankly I think everything Andromeda does has a purpose and is wonderful in it’s own way and yet really, sometimes…..she just talks, not that I really can, I know I run my mouth over a lot of useless information but it’s just a female thing really, they talk and it pays to be able to just nod along. If Starfall is offended by the non-existant trees talking then he will never get a girl and I live in fear of that too. My sons are exquisite and I am entirely sure it is not just myself being somewhat biased to them that thinks that. I mean, maybe he’s a bit….different, but seriously, Starfall, like Guardian is- the epitome of the male species. Even Meryl isn’t too bad I suppose.

My ears flickered towards him once more as he spoke, apparently content to ruin the hair I tried to fix. What was Stella teaching them about style? Honestly she was doing it wrong as far as I could see, the boy had no appreciation for class. His words managed to bring a slight frown to my features once more, head tilting in curiosity. My kind? What the hell was that supposed to mean? Is he calling me stupid? I don’t even know. I managed a rather childish huff of my own at his retort and truly in that moment had anyone come across my boy and I they would surely have pointed out what was made clear to Heyel all those years ago. My son- was just like me and I in turn, was just like Heyel. A vicious cycle really, I mean after all, Heyel and I will never see eye to eye and perhaps Star and I are doomed to the same kind of fate. He is…..me and I sure as hell ain’t that fond of myself despite my adoration for my child. Maybe he’ll do better with this personality then I ever did, not that I really noticed right then and there how similar we were. The boy kept talking, my head tilting once more. His grandmother? Zeivah? Oh right, the other one, my head shaking softly at this thought before he spoke of sleeping any my not getting it. Believe me boy, I am fairly sure I understand sleep.

"Starfall, you do sleep, I have seen you sleeping, the other world is just dreaming, we all have dreams, believe me I do as well, but you couldn’t be in the other world unless you were asleep so you do sleep and it’s not that I don’t believe you. I do.”

I’d just rather pretend it didn’t exist, I’d rather pretend you just have an over active imagination. I was getting nowhere with him and I was only getting annoyed again despite my efforts to remain, well, fairly calm, after all I worked out months ago that the boys aren’t like Andromeda, they don’t just yell back….they get upset if I snap at them, they don’t understand that I really don’t mean it and that starts a whole other world of trouble. SO I was trying, actually trying not to yell, to understand even though I know I never will. Guardian is simple, Guardian is easy because he is a typical boy, he is everything I wanted for both my sons, happy, easy, likes to fight things and tackle stuff to the floor. He talks a bit funny but hell, as long as the latin is right then no one can complain and I think his common tongue is just outright laziness. I adore Starfall, but I don’t know how to show it. The boys snort brought one of my own to my lips, a near identical gesture of frustrated disdain as we both sat in silence once more, apparently content to wait the other out before I came to the conclusion that as the parent…I should probably say something. Was I really this bad as a child? Hell I was worse- no wonder I had like, no friends, I was a jerk. I sighed before speaking once more, the boy acting as if he was prepared to argue again before I hurriedly continued. If you can’t beat them, join them. Starfall clearly thinks the world is against and maybe it is, but….shouldn’t someone be on his side? Maybe I don’t believe his words, maybe I don’t understand him or like this dream dancer nonsense but that doesn’t mean I’m not on his….team. I am his Father, I am always on his side, always, before anyone else’s and I don’t know how else to show him that other then by offering to attack his stupid tree. I don’t know how to….make him like me, I don’t know how to be emotional about this sort of thing because I grew up with a Father who told me quite frankly one day that ‘boys don’t cry’. I still remember it, he said it to me more then once after all. I had no mother, I just wanted…comfort, I just wanted someone to tell me everything would be ok, I was a child, barely older then Starfall when I came to my sire with tears in my eyes because I had no friends, because I could never do anything right, because I had lost my Mother and litter brothers and he just told me that……and walked past.

I never forgot that. Never. So maybe….maybe I shouldn’t walk past my own son when it’s already fairly clear he’s not all that taken with me, I don’t know why, I don’t know what I did wrong and hell, maybe Heyel never realised how upset I really was either but I…..I’m not him and I don’t want to be. Not anymore. Star seemed slightly taken aback by my offer, at least for a moment before he suddenly stood up, marching back towards the offending tree, that quite honestly look a bit dead already, though I hardly saw the need to tell him that. Why couldn’t a bush have called him names? I could have taken out an offending bush…….this was a damn tree. The boys latina met my ears, the sound smooth and perfect as always the Angels have spoken it, some sense of pride touching my snowy features before the violet blue of my gaze, identical to my mother’s own, rested back on my son as he examined the tree with obvious thought. How the hell was I going to….punish it? I do hope no one is watching…..

Justice, alright, he wants justice. My entire life is dedicated to performing works of justice so this tree should be no different, despite being the tallest and sturdiest opponent I have surely ever faced. I glanced down to the boy again, Star seeming quite serious about this and some ridiculous part of myself, well, it didn’t want to let him down. I am fairly sure this was what they call bonding and I was loathe to ruin that, even if it meant I’d be picking splinters from my fangs for months.

"Tunc operabuntur justítia scelere ...... calumniis contra angelicam sanguinis.”
(Then we shall serve it justice for…..slander against the angelic race.)

I am fairly sure it is the only tree ever to be accused of this crime and yet really, it was hardly going to argue back. I would have sentenced it to death were it not already a bit dead anyway. Now, how did I got about punishing it? Biting it seemed ridiculous, I mean I could but I’d get a mouthful of bark and dirt if I managed to injure it at all. I moved from Starfall’s side, pelt lit to an ethereal glow as I moved on long, hard limbs about the tree, searching for some weak point like I would with any other opponent before coming back to the boy. Alright, let’s see how this goes. I took a step back, balancing myself before rearing up onto my hind legs, large paws and claws braced against the tree’s trunk before forced my weight back down, blunt claws digging into the wood, shredding bark and trunk in every direction as I raked my claws down it, trying to shut my eyes against the onslaught of wood shavings before landing back on the earth, huge cuts now present down it’s sides. Ha. Stupid tree. I grinned, hardly aware I was doing it, having taken actual pleasure in my destruction of the thing before I grinned back down to Starfall. Alright, round two. I reared up once more, clawing at the tree again before it suddenly groaned, my paws quickly returning to the earth as something…cracked and the whole thing began to waver and…fall.

"Stecore!”
(Shit!)

I leapt backwards, teeth closing around Starfalls ruff, jerking him back with me though he never was in actual danger of it landing on him, still, I tend to get overprotective. The tree wavered a moment longer before it creaked, groaned and fell, crashing to earth with enough noise to bring the whole pack running in its death throes before the earth fell silent once. Hell….I broke it.

"Don’t tell your Mother. I think she rather liked that tree.”

Oh well- it was it’s fault for being half-dead already, besides…..I made my point didn’t I? It was sufficiently punished for its…slander.
