Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Vera was not one to miss anything. Others, places, things, thoughts, feelings. They all come and go, every last one of them. Even where she was born and raised- Hell itself, did not cause any longing to well up within her breast. What did happen to cause such a sensation was the fact that she was hungry- ravenously so. Licking her obsidian chops absentmindedly, she continued her wandering and meandering, going no where in particular. Her bonded and herself, her Inugami, had come to this land known as Moladion to seek out Inu's sister, Ishtar. But they were taking their sweet time, of course. At least Vera was. She had the simple mindset that she was free to come and go as she pleased. She belonged to no one, at least not completely so, but others belonged to her. Oh yes, such as her little captive. And it was only time before her collection grew. The dark girl was one who liked things, handsome, pretty, worthful things. Everything else was not even given a second thought. Worthless, worthless, and- oh yes, more worthless.

And so when her wanderings brought her upon the scent of fresh hare, she immediately turned her direction toward it. It did not matter how the animal had died, where it was, who currently had it, or who even currently killed it. Vera wanted it, and Vera always got what she wanted. She came upon him when he was laughing at the pathetic creature at his paws, and his entire demeanor as well as appearance had everything changing all at once. A demon. A demon from Hell, no doubt. His body language told her all she needed to know. Well. She had already come this far. Sauntering into his view at last with her crimson splashed tail held just above her rump, she focused her ever clear sapphire gaze directly on him. If he returned said eye contact, well, that was his choice, of course. Dipping her jaw down in a fluid movement of acknowledgement, she spoke out then, her voice velvet laced with razors.

"Fancy meeting another, here." It was painfully obvious what she was, just as it was with him, and so she felt no need to state the obvious. And if he couldn't see it, well, not everyone is as intelligent as she, after all. But something told her this chap was not an idiot, nor anything close to. Of course, she didn't know exactly who this was off the bat, just that he was, in fact, a fellow demon. A handsome, well equipped male demon, at that. Perhaps a runner up for her collection? The thought brought an amused smirk to her muzzle, stretching her dark lips lazily across her facial features. Oh she could have fun with him. "How about some dinner for two?" Though she had not looked upon the hare between his paws, her words were rather obvious. Though of course she had it in mind for bringing down her own dinner, though hare wasn't all that appealing at the moment. She had something better, something darker in mind, and she wondered if he would think along the same lines as she, or if he was more of a square. Only his reply would tell her.

for the night is dark
and full of terrors
