Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Watch Me Come Undone

My days have been going slower as of late. I haven't seen Cobryn nearly as much as I'd like and I have a feeling his disappearances have something to do with that black and gold bitch, Pheonix. I could rip her limb from limb...but I have kids to think about now. My first. I nuzzle each in turn as I lick their foreheads. They look so cute when they're sleeping. I'm finding I love being a parent. I am still convinced Cobryn will be an awesome dad and they will grow up strong and honorable just like him. My two strong boys and my beautiful baby girl. A ripple runs down my spine. Something is different today; I can feel it. I prick my ears toward the entrance. I haven't been out of my den so much; I can't get enough of spending time with my children. I want to be the perfect mother for them. And then a howl breaks out over the pack lands that leaves my hackles bristling with a mixture of caution and anticipation. That was not the voice of Makism or Tarquinn. A new alpha? Seems Glorall is doomed to move from alpha to alpha. Slowly, I get to my paws, shaking out my coat. It wouldn't do not to show. I do want to earn a rank, still, after all. I lick each of my children once more, cautioning them in small voices to stay in the den. My gaze finds the half asleep form of Tristan. I can see him peering at me from under half closed lids. Does he really think I'm that thick? I tilt my head, amusement in my gaze but even so, I whisper.

"Watch your siblings for me. I'll be back."

Making sure he heard, I then head out of the den and take off for the clearing. My eyes find the new alpha immediately upon entering. He stands tall and graceful, a gray and black brindled king. Interesting. He looks capable enough anyway. Hopefully he doesn't choose a male as his mate like the last king. Or should I say kings? I watch then as he starts walking over to each and grabbing their muzzles in a show of dominance. My hackles bristle a little at the thought but I force them to smooth. He doesn't mean any harm by it. I wait my turn, standing quietly though I keep my head up to show that I have a dominant side. I was a Beta for years in the river pack Judila and I got voted in as Quarter Master for Weylin when he was king. I hold myself in high regards and I want this new king to know that I will not stand for being dismissed as a simple Omega or pack wolf. I am more efficiant than that. I let him grab my muzzle, my eyes staring into his for a moment before I look away, not wanting to look like I'm challenging him, only sizing him up. Once he's done, he announces himself to be SilverTongue. He has a bloodline of alphas so it makes sense. Brother of the Spirane queen and son of the former royalty over Solevion. Next he starts asking questions about spring. He's trying to find jobs, tasks for everyone already. My tail gives a flick of approval. I like this guy. To the point. I wait my turn and then step forward.

"Welcome to Glorall, Silvertongue. My name is Enigma. I just gave birth this spring but I am ready for any tasks you may have. I am good at hunting; I also have experience in battle. I have scouted before though I do better with diplomacy tasks."

That should answer his questions. I don't like stealing. It's not honorable; it's sneaky. I know nothing of herbs though I'm sure it would come in handy. I glance around at my fellow pack mates, wondering who else has come to the call. I see D'Mani looking bitter as always. I wonder if she was first to the meeting again. She always seems to be first. Her responses are short and bitter as well. Guess that's to be expected. I wonder if she loosens up any. The sound of a throat being cleared as me glancing over at a black female with a cub at her side. She walks over to Silver and its easy to see by her stance that she must be his mate and now our queen. She calls herself Rhoedias. It sounds familiar somehow. I watch as she rubs against D'Mani before settling on the ground. I'm sure D'Mani will love that. My two toned eyes glow with a little humor as I look around once more. Everchime and Mortz arrive next. They greet D'Mani before turning their attention to the new alpha. I watch their playful antics before Silvertongue grabs Ever's muzzle. Things get a little tense then. She squeaks and tells him to unhand her and the younger male gets aggressive. I can tell he's not hurting her so it's kind of amusing, actually. Mortz paws at Silver but when he lets her go, they seem to calm down some.

Another male arrives, this one the brother of the late Weylin. Pan, I think his name was. He tends to be a know it all but it's rather amusing as well. He doesn't disappoint either, trying to explain exactly why Silver would be muzzling everyone when he cuts off the alpha male himself, telling him not to bite him until he's done talking. My lips quirk a bit with humor, my tail curling around my flanks as I settle down to watch. He finally lets Silver hold his muzzle before he starts talking again, introducing himself. I watch him till he's done but my attention wanders when a new scent enters my nostrils. An outsider. He starts talking immediately though, his way of talking rather odd if you ask me. Lady bros? I tilt my head, green and blue eyes twinkling with curiosity. He calls himself Aether. Odd name as well. I turn my head when another female arrives. I believe her name is Alana. She stands next to D'Mani, seemingly the most comfortable there. She speaks up when asked, saying she can do pretty much anything like the two before her but she admits her weakness in the fighting area. The next to arrive is Sinopa. I offer her a smile and nod of my head since I remember she was the one who fought for the pack. I respect that. Had I been able to settle in more and really felt the loyalty pull, I might have done the same. She tells the alphas that she was a healer but that she's good at other stuff too. She then asks to be dismissed to go back to her children. I didn't think she had a mate. Interesting.

A pup wanders in suddenly, calling for his mom while smelling of Sinopa. Oh boy. I watch as he wanders over to Silver and asks who he is. When he speaks to the son of Rhoe and Silver, he speaks in a different language. This must the Latin I hear the Angels speak. The new prince of Glorall seems unsure of himself until he is smiled at. Then he puffs out his chest and looks like he's trying to impress someone. Amusing. I smirk, watching as he tells Sinopa that he would like that but he looked about ready to pounce on someone earlier for talking to Silver. He looks ready to play with her son who stumbles in though, asking if his way of talking is a game. Pups. I roll my eyes with amusement, glancing back toward my own den warily. I don't really trust Tristan to stay put either. Silver's voice gives me pause though, my gaze returning to him as he scolds D'Mani for her attitude. Sure she has one but she didn't mean any disrespect. Who does he expect to help him chase her out? Most of the pack know her and like her. Not a way to rally support. Where's his sense of humor? I can see all is not peaceful in paradise too as he stares at his mate, looking every bit like he's scolding her as well before he asks his son if he saw anything on his travels. He glares at Pan too, telling him that he can join D'Mani over the borders if he intends to speak much more. My, someone's a grump. Color me not too impressed. I keep my thoughts to myself but my eyes glitter with mischief. He greets Aether without scolding. Oh my, we have a first. He lets Sinopa know that her pup did not wait for her, looking happy for once when he sees her son. I guess he's a softie for pups.

He frowns when the boy speaks, apparently not used to that kind of talking. Meanwhile my gaze finds D'Mani as she speaks up, telling Aether off for crossing borders. Gotta love the way she speaks her mind. I guess I should have been here sooner cause D'Mani speaks my name and Cobryn, saying she hasn't seen us in a while. I blink a few times. Was I not here for the last pack meeting? I haven't seen her since then either but I haven't been missing or anything. Oh well. I still have to earn my stripes here. I can respect that. At least he knows I'm here now. My lips tighten as I look toward the borders, knowing Cobryn won't come, not now at least.
