Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

The travel from Romance River to Rainbow Cliff had been a pleasant albeit quiet one. The conversation that had come so easily to them beforehand seemed to cease. Their pace had be leisurely, comfortable. Just like the silence. It was not one of those that was awkward or painful – rather, just a lull in speech. As if it was one that they were used to. As if they had known each other for ages. Occasionally, her sunny orbs caught sight of his ambers resting upon her, but as soon as she had returned the gaze, he would look away. Kahlan had thought multiple times about what she could say to him, but each time, it sounded wrong. Each time, it sounded dumb. And that had been why she had remained silent. But as they reached the base of the path that led to the cliff, she inhaled sharply to speak, just as he did as well. So, Kahlan, what is your history? As I’ve previously said, I’ve come from outside of the forest in search of my siblings. A barren, harsh world, one without my parents. I was the oldest of us three, my little sister and parents dying in a fire. I do not remember much, only them falling and falling… Instead of releasing her breath, she held it. He could not have asked a more personal or disturbing question, for her past was just as horrendous as his own. If not worse.

Um…” Kahlan started walking again, beginning her way up the dangerous slope. “Well they are gone. Mostly.” She increased her pace until she was huffing and puffing, and a thin layer of sweat covered her pelt. “I… have to stop…” The timberess slowed her pace until she had stopped her forward motion, turning away from the brute. She had perched herself on a ledge almost halfway up the cliff. “It hurts to talk about their deaths. It was not easy to deal with.” As she spoke, her mind strayed to the past and stayed there throughout the duration of her monologue. “My brother had been playing, chasing after a butterfly. My parents… they were Alphas. My father followed Henadin – that’s my brother. And saw a stranger- he was infected. My father killed him, but the disease spread to him. It was only a few days before the rage took him over… and he went crazy. Henadin and me, we were just pups. Henadin hid until it was over, but my mother, she swept me away. We went to look for Henadin, but thought he was dead because we couldn’t find him. My mother raised me until I was fully aged… a few years back Henadin found me and we have been together ever since. We found a pack together… Saw Tooth. He found a mate…and she just had their pups.” Her voice held silent as her form took to shakes, quivering from the pain she now felt in her heart.
