I waited at the den’s entrance, something told me Alcide would not be here. Surely he was busy given his new position at the very top of the pack as King. Not that he wasn’t king before, but now all responsibilities would fall onto his shoulders. I had to respect that he was suffereing too because of MoonGlow’s absence, he had a lot on his mind. I waited for him and it was not long that I hear his strong baritone voice booming forth and calling my name. I never had a father, I would never count Fenrir as my real dad, he was never there for me, so when Alcide called me ‘son’ I wasn’t sure what to think. I knew that he considered me as such, who was I to deny the fact that really he was the only father I did have. The only parental figure I had. I hadn’t thought of it that way before, so I couldn’t help but let a small smile touch my maw.

I haven’t been called ‘son’ in a while, not since my mother really, my tail gave a wave and I replied, ”I’ve been alright. I want to go to Diveen, I heard I have an aunt there and I would like to meet her. “ Though this wasn’t why I had come today and I wasn’t seeking permission from Alcide I guessed it was not wrong to tell him what I was planning. Even if he had said he did not want me to go it wouldn’t stop me. I wanted, needed, to see them for my own sanity. Spring and summer had made the depression go away, but with that came a clarity that I needed to do something with myself. I liked to sing, but I also was pretty good at fighting with Leo. Sure that wasn’t exactly experience, but it was something right?

”But, that’s not why I really have been looking for you, Alcide… Father.” The word was strange on my maw, especially directed at someone, but again I assure myself that Alcide really was the only father I ever had, or really wanted. I would never except MoonGlow as my mother, I had a mom, but I never had a father, Alcide was my father then, not Fenrir. ”I want to be a warrior of Spirane, may you train me? I know you are busy, so maybe someone else can teach me? I don’t know who, maybe brother Sleekwing? When he gets back?” I did not know who else could potentially train me to be a strong fighter, I may even have to go to another pack to train like Sleekwing was. Maybe I would even go with him. Something, I just knew I needed more purpose than I had now, and that singing was not a true job. I heard of this term, a bard, and I thought I would enjoy that, but learning to fight, probably be a better career path.

I hoped he would understand, hoped he had a solution for me. He was king right, my father could probably find something for me.
