News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

Here at the end of the world

Noel

planets fall and we are rising

A season had passed over Glorall since he had washed up on the shore and yet sleep was as restless and light as day one. The child awoke with a startle at the whine from outside the alphas' den, scrambling to his paws in a near sudden panic at the sound. The soft words from Rhoedias, his surrogate caretaker since his arrival, reminded him of where he was as they did most mornings and his breathing began to calm. The boy shook his head, squeezing his eyes shut against the migraine that greeted him this morning as it did most. It would pass, and until then he would endure.

Noel was quick to exit the den, affording the alpha family their privacy as he only felt he should. Even with the past few months, he had not yet felt belonging. Though Rhoe, with all the kindness of her heart, had taken him in and treated him as her own, guilt troubled the poor pup. This was not his life, he was not their child, and he was not keen on taking the attention of Ravenwing's parents away from the other boy who's life he had stumbled upon. In reality, he had no clue how Ravenwing or even Glorall's alpha Silvertongue truly felt about him. Noel had made it a priority to be scarce, spending his time as a shadow after Alana or exploring the shores on his own, asking for very little from Rhoe in the way of care though she provided more than enough. He was grateful, most assuredly, but could not help the guilt that plagued him.

It was early and the sounds of the waking land were more than enough for the charcoal dusted white pup as he tagged along at the rear of the group. He was silent as he followed the small party, heterochromatic amber yellow and half blue mismatched eyes studying the path as they walked. Noel was most observant for one his age, certainly less distracted as he memorized the path they took. The walk was long, but he was not one to complain about such things.

The pup's pace slowed as the myriad scent of Diveen filled his nose, signaling as more of a warning than a greeting. There was certainly a difference in the wolves here when compared to Glorall, such could be told by the strong message in their border marking. Noel was beginning to feel as if their direct approach into Diveen was not the best idea, but decided against voicing his opinions out loud. Everchime and Rhoe were both prominent members of Glorall and this was their task to perform.

The boy remained still as Ever and Mortz lifted their voices and called out to Diveen, hanging back from the part a couple yards and placidly surveying the rising cliffs ahead. The land here was very different from the waterfront of Glorall, elevated and sparsely covered, but still just as breathtakingly beautiful. As the first of Diveen approached, a female of around the same age as him, it became quickly apparent that the wolves here were as different to Glorall as their landscape. It was in the eyes, the disapproving glare she set upon not only him but also the two fully grown females of the group. Her words were spoken with acidity and the insult was not lost on him. Noel felt the fur along his scruff prickle, his crest raising slightly in a bit of his own annoyance. Who was this girl to put on such heirs before those she did not even know? He locked eyes with the dark girl, staring her down coolly as he came to stand beside Mortz.

"Nequitiae in animo, non in verbo vno toriae moribus. Nostri intentiones sunt purae. Quid de tuo?" (Vileness is in the intent, not in the word; a reflection on one's character. Our intentions are pure. What of your own?)

His words came fluently at the same time that Rhoedias addressed the girl, spoken in a calm and measured tone though his eyes suggested he was just and un-amused as the little black and gray fem. It wasn't until Rhoe turned her attention around the to group to announce they did not understand the girl's language that Noel even recognized it had been different in the first place. He looked to his surrogate, though a part of him was greatly reluctant to take his eyes from the catty girl, with a look on his face that suggested a good amount of shock. This was as much a revelation to him as it would be to the other members of Glorall, and a strange one at that. He had just spoken another language without pause, without really realizing it, and he had absolutely no idea why or how.

The arrival of a male, old but physically peaked, stalled the moment and took Noel's attention once more. There was still a good amount of surprise in his eyes as he turned his attention to the one Rhoe addressed a Heyel, heterochromatic eyes looking the sturdy male over before catching the movement of a third Diveen arrival.

For all his words he had in reply to the female, Noel was silent now. It was time for the adults to speak, and for that he was almost grateful as he was still trying to process what had just transpired.
