Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Ra's

I'm coming out of my cage

As he laid there in the cool stream, an upturned, russet highlighted ear twitched at the birdcalls from overhead, noting the absences of many that had migrated for the season. His family would be beating feet toward a warmer climate, too, covering more ground than most gypsy bands for the turn of a season. Him? He was taking a slightly more stationary turn in his life. Not completely. Ra’s would never be completely still. It wasn’t in his blood and he couldn’t really see it in his future. He might narrow down his range, perhaps slow his pace, but his paws were made for walking.

Bright spring green eyes shot open at the sudden hail, a colorful female voice greeting him loudly from only a short distance. Ra’s lifted his head from the water and peered over his shoulder, droplets tinkling in the stream as they shed off his glistening black fur. A smile was already on his face as he fixed the girl with his gaze, though, as he took in her navy blue pools and glowing white fur his expression went slightly slack.

”Hey indeed,” the words came out on their own, no thought process involved. The leggy boy lifted himself to his paws with a good amount of automation, attention completely capture by the beautiful creature that stood by the trees. Her front was dusted in dirt and moss clippings and yet she retained an angelic appeal. He wasn’t sure what witchery she was pulling to make his chest tighten so, to pull at his very being with a single word in a way that had him literally leaning forward toward her, but it was a completely foreign magic to him. He had seen many a wolfess in his travels, some he even recognized as remarkable, but this was different. As he looked upon the white girl smiling at him with a friendly wave of her tail, it was as if he were breathing in life for the first time. It was as if the planets had aligned, his existence showered with sudden enlightenment.

The boy’s smile brightened from its momentary slack, expression perking in apparent interest as he took a step toward the lovely girl. He wanted to run up to her, put his nose to her neck and breathe her in; did she smell as wonderful as she appeared? However, a more reasonable part of his mind found that idea to be rather stupid. He didn’t know her. She didn’t know him. That sort of action would probably send her hightailing for her family. Why on earth had it even occurred to him? Sure, he’d been girl crazy before... But that... that was just plain weird thinking. Time to get a grip, buddy.

Ra’s gave a quick shake of his sodden mass of black fur, flinging water through the air and leaving his coat in spiky, wild disarray. The white saddle behind his shoulders glimmered in the sunlight streaming through the trees, caught in the remaining drops of water like little silver beads. He retuned his attention on the female with a pleasant sort of smirk, accenting the wild muss of his fur in a “bad boy” sort of way. Now would certainly be a good time to have a wingman, but, unfortunately, his old buddies were probably miles away by now. It looked like he was going solo, as there wasn’t a force in the universe powerful enough to turn him away from this sorceress.

”Just when I thought I was lost, the Universe sends me a guardian angel.” He wasn’t lost. Even if he had been, he certainly wasn’t anymore. But, details…

and I've been doing just fine
