Was I?I was too lazy to play. __________________________________
The creature didn’t really know how to handle this conversation. It’s set too many things flying around his head. Things… things were hard to handle, but what did this mean? What was it supposed to mean? Swallowbane quivered softly, subtly, not enough to bring attention to himself but enough to… well, he knew. He knew that he was shaking ever so softly, and that was enough. To know he was shaking… it shook him. Swallowbane tried to get a grip on himself. It wasn’t really something that he could keep a hand on. The young man would take himself and… shake himself, really.
He asks a question, and it brings the young man to shake his head for a moment. “My mother—she’d never forgive me.” But he wonders, trailing off, if Moonglow would even be around to remember him. She’d run off, and that was driving him… a little more than mad. He missed his mother. He missed his mother more than any technically grown man should. That was something eh couldn’t really handle. Sometimes Bane worries. Bane worries a lot, and that’s something he can’t help either. Sometimes it sucks to not be able to handle himself. He would know.
And then Tesseract speaks again, and Bane knows. Bane knows how he feels. Bane can feel what Tesseract feels… and that feels good. They can sit side by side as equals, and that feels… good. He hasn’t felt like this in a long time, not even with his own brother. They were brothers in a different way, which certainly helped. He’d jumped off the deep end a long time ago, and that didn’t help. Sometimes nothing would help, and that was when things got tough. It was always tough when it came to Swallowbane. It sucks to not know who you are.
“What happened to you? Vapid little sister who’s damn den you were kicked out of the day she was born all of a sudden become the hope of the new world after the sky fucking fell?” He’s unnecessarily bitter. He doesn’t care. Bane does, in fact, hate the creature for no other good reason than the fact she ruined his plans. She ruined everything he’d tried to do, everything that he’d made work. He’d kept them alive after everything ended. Everything was… bizarre. Everything had been spinning around his head, and that made him sick to his stomach. Swallowbane had spent so much time being sick lately.
“Charmed, Tesseract… to tell you, I’ve never met anyone else in our… situation.” The creature’s tail twitched, a slight smile playing on his lips in the low light.
