The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.
I am not sad but sober

A lone figure stood atop a cresting dune facing towards the rising sun, her shadow casting waves behind her. Slowly she lowered her upturned face, turning away and glancing behind. Nothing but golden sand washed around her like a sea rippling with silent power that swelled inside her brown eyes. White legs began to move, pulling free of the grasping earth with each step taken. Tail rising to a banner the mare tosses her head, white mane cascading down her golden hued neck like crashing water. But all motion is brought to a halt with a single sound that echoes across the vast space of silence.

Ears swivel forward, nares flaring to catch a scent she is nothing but a statue as she stands awaiting for the next call. Without movement she would be hard to see, her skin the same color as the land that surrounds her. But she does not stay that way for long. Lungs slowly drawing in a deep breath it is quickly released in a piercing call, the sound a lonesome soul’s cry.

Not so long ago Yindy had wanted nothing more than to be left alone, forgotten and to be swallowed by the shadows that haunted the Crossing. But in the time that had passed since she had seen Pyrate in this lonesome place her longing for another being was becoming too strong to bare. White legs rising to fall in a three beat gate, she galloped to meet the stranger who had set foot upon this barren place. But as the mare neared, her eyes falling prey upon the strangers skin her stride faltered and she stumbled to a halt still some ways out.

“No”

The word escapes her lips, a whoosh of air that refused to stay within which causes a gasp to follow closely behind. Blood washes into her vision, the soft whisper of her mother’s voice teasing her ears as the wind gently caresses her skin. The smell of fear and death invades her senses causing the woman to tremble where she stands as her mind flashes memories before her eyes. It all happens within seconds, the haunting of her past before she pushes it all away.

Before Yindy can even let loose the call that breaks free of her lips, the vixen’s legs have already launched her into a run. Her tail rose to let her long white tail flow behind her and her mane ripple and dance upon her neck with each stride that brought her farther down from the dune she stood upon and to the beach her brother occupied. Only when she finally reached him did she slow, coming to stand face to face with him. Her brown eyes drank in his form, how he had grown and become a man. The last she had seen him Calum had been a boy covered in his mother’s blood just barely weaned and still a growing foal. Now power rippled along his chest and hip the sure sign he was indeed a full grown stallion.

“Calum”

The word is a whisper, her tone a prayer that he was indeed real. Yindy was afraid to touch him, that he may vanish should she reach for him. This was all just an allusion, a trick of her mind with nothing but memories to keep her company. Maybe it was the slight swell of her stomach, the unwanted pregnancy in a place that was considered a hell on earth that had finally driven her past the sanities of life. But as she stared at him, the uncertainty washed across her face Yindy still dared to hope and slowly reached out her muzzle to him hoping the warmth of his breath would touch her skin and that the embrace of a brother would greet her and not the sad truth that she had finally gone insane.
