Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He had set out and accomplished exactly as he was intended. Rio had been set with the task of visiting Glorall, to confirm an alliance with them and report back to Silvertongue. He felt content in the way things had gone, and with the information, though slight it was, he had gained during his visit. The wolf, Godric, had been a kind and easy going fellow, giving the red-head a good feel for Spirane. They were a well established pack, something that could be essential in an alliance between them and Glorall. Nothing could damper the wolf's mood, except for perhaps the surprise he came upon when reaching the border of his sea home. It was there when a new, suddenly overpowering scent came upon him. It was not Silvertongue, nor any wolf he knew. He had not yet been present for any pack meetings, but it was not a scent that was familiar even deep within the territory. Ever the gentleman and wise mind, he was quick to slow his paw steps until he came directly upon the border. To continue forward, or wait patiently for whomever might reside within the territory still? There were still somewhat familiar scents hanging upon the breeze, those Rio had yet to meet but those he knew resided there before this new wolf seemed to be in charge. A change in Alpha, simple as that.

And thus, because he had been sent away beneath Silvertongue's rule, and as this was apparently no longer his pack, the middle aged wolf remained upon the border, contemplating silently. Was now the time to turn away, or was it in him to continue forward under whomever this new wolf might be? It was a gamble, but seeing as life was about taking the reins, he was content to remain where he was. After all, what could perhaps just meeting this new Alpha have in store for him? Nothing brutal, nothing violent, he imagined. Unless that's just what this wolf was. But he didn't think the other wolves of Glorall would stick around if such were so. No. They all seemed a sensible lot in the small social aspect the male had gained while residing within. Granted he had spent some time away on his task, but here he was, returning. And what was loyalty if it was anything after all? After some time, with his bright citrine gaze glancing up above him, it was then he noticed the large lantern watching over him from the night sky curtained above. It always reminded him of her, the first, and the tale she used to enjoy speaking of. Whether it was to the young ones, or any one at all- she loved to tell it over and over. The tale of the sun and the moon.

The memory brought a slight smile back to the red-heads muzzle, his mind momentarily focusing on her and memories he still held on to. She was a ghost of his past, yes, but something he recalled with fondness. After all, why should he hold bitterness to anyone, least of all her? No. There was no negative feeling within his soul, to anyone or anything at all. Throughout his entire life, the one thing he had forever maintained and would always was his sincerity and his kindness. In all decisions, he knew he could go mostly one of two ways. A good, and a bad. He prided himself in sticking more toward the good, and quietly contemplated himself and what decision he might make upon any arrival to greet him at this moment. Did he wish to stay within Glorall, under leadership of this new wolf- or would he take his leave to find his home elsewhere? Perhaps within the no mans land- or another land all together.
