Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

My dear, it’s true
You’re trouble just like me
We’re black, and blue
& in love with misery.

The silence of winter is the only thing that the girl loves of the season, everything else she can do without; the cold, the lack of sunshine, not to mention to shortage in prey animals. She could hardly understand why anyone would love the season, really.

The quiet of the scenery around her set her ever further at ease - though it was a common thing for Chey to be so relaxed at all times. The only unsettling thing about this moment was.. A growl in protest of the girl's constant motion sounded from behind her, its gurgling soon dying out within a moment's time. She was starving. If there was anything that miss Chevrille could do to get her jaws around a nice, bloody chunk of meat right now, she would. Food was the one thing that was capable of breaking the femme's placid demeanor, her mind shifted into a frenzied state when any type of it was at stake. Her body demanded sustenance and she could no longer deny it. Her nose was lifted high into the air as she scented while she walked through the frosted land. She did not expect to be so lucky to find any live prey and be capable of bringing it to its death on her own, but a carcass would do just fine for the famished wolf.

Her eyes of jade searched the terrain for the scent she had picked up in the air, not exactly fresh but no older than a day or two - anything was fine for her snarling belly now. She only wished to satiate its pleas. Across the river, one much like the body of water she had called her home, was the fallen body of the elk. She would brave any interference to get to the meal, even the freezing waters of the river. But she hesitated. It had been so long since she had been in Moladion, so long since she had lived near to a stream that she could swim in, she nearly thought that she had forgotten how. With unease, she stepped into the frigid waters and was quickly making her way across, despite the movement of the water bringing her a bit further downstream. Her petite paws made purchase on the hardened land as she breached the other side and hastily made her way to the feast. Or what was left of it.

The belly had already been ripped wide and the most desired organs already taken, but she did not care. She would scavenge for what goods were left. She began gnawing at the outermost region of the corpse before diving her upper body into the hollowed remains for what was deeper in. Her fangs tore greedily at the remnants, ripping and swallowing pieces whole. She ravaged the body until there was nothing edible left and took a bone for gnawing on.

She stepped away from her mid-afternoon snack and layed down on the banks, content with her jagged bone between her paws as she chewed away in silence.
