Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Jagger was not expecting that reaction. The lynx, startled or not, wanted him as lunch. It was clear in its actions; startled lynx might growl and hiss but they wouldn't chase this far this long. Prey was scarce in the winter, and therefor a scrawny teen, though wolf, was food for starving, desperate lynxes. Her ears felt flat and a small whine rose in her throat. She didn't like this, a friend crying. She felt the grief like it was her own, felt it swell in her chest. Whenever a friend hurt, she hurt. She didn't know why; it was just how it had always been. She lowered her muzzle, trying to give what she hoped was a comforting nudge. "'Tau this wasn't your fault," She started, resenting the fact that she had to kill it. "It was hungry. Lynxes don't chase like that unless they're after prey. It probably saw you as an easy meal." She told him, hoping he'd understand. She didn't like -wouldn't- kill things that did not need killing. Sure, they'd have probably scraped a bit but would've gone their own ways had it not been so hungry.

"I only killed it because if I didn't it would to try to eat you," She explained gently, not wanting the pup to be sad anymore. Already she considered him like a little brother, and so she'd protect him with all her might. When he lifted his head and asked, JAg smiled softly. Not only because he seemed to be at some sort of peace once more, but also that he asked her and looked determined. If he didn't, she would have said no. Why teach him if he doesn't really want it, afterall? But the shine in his eyes had her thinking that when he grew up -and bulked up in all honesty- he'd be a fine warrior.

"Alright," She agreed, trying to sound more cheerful to lift his spirits a bit. "But on two conditions. One, you don't fight just to fight." She herself tried to refrain from it, but sometimes it was the only way to express emotion, and she wasn't above her own laws. "And two, only kill when you have too." This she stuck rigidly to. In wars, yes, she'd killed, but only because they were trying to kill her or her friends. Otherwise, she just incapacitated. Not enough so they couldn't hunt, but enough so they wouldn't be a threat. "'Tau," She began to ask, quickly falling into the habit of calling him by her nickname for him. "Do you have a home or a den?" If not she could bring him to Glorall so she could train him alongside Viora. He may not want to be a Hastati, but he'd get training and somewhere safe to sleep. Plus she could have her pupils in one place rather than seeking one out. She was sure Tesseract wouldn't mind terribly. After all, he didn't mind when Chicky brought her along, even gave her a rank, so she didn't think one more teenager would be too much of a problem.
