Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Felan

A small cave in the foot of the mountain was the chosen place his mother and father had decided to rest in. It was just big enough to fit the young family and would keep them warm in the colder climate. Felan, who had continued to bound around his family, stayed outside the lair as his parents entered rubbing against each other for some unknown reason. At first Felan stuck out his tongue causing his face to contort in a ‘yuck’ kind of way but as the snow continued to fall his mind slowly drifted away from his parents and back onto play. The cold snowflakes brushed his nose causing him to yip and jump trying to catch other snow drops in his mouth. A cheeky, yet somehow evil, smile tugged at his lips as he pounced on an unsuspecting pile of snow, disappearing head first into it’s cold embrace. His body quivered as he eventually managed to pull himself free and he clicked his teeth in irritation towards the icy demon. That would serve it right for making him cold and wet. Soon the boy was trotting back towards his family, his tassel curled over his back in a cocky manner. Once or twice the boy slipped on the ice under paw but managed to regain his balance and continued onwards until he reached the den where his parents sat. He was just about to speak to his family when his father’s words interrupted and another, toothy, smile flashed on the pup’s face.

His father jumped forwards landing in the thick snow that covered the floor beneath them. An excited yip, filled with happiness, echoed through the air as the pup lunged towards his father aiming to land close to him and nibble playfully on his skin. Though his needle like teeth would pinch his father he would make sure to do it lightly, the last thing he wanted to do was hurt his protector. For once in their lives, the family seemed to relax, and though Corde was still struggling with the demons that taunted her, it appeared that the family had finally found somewhere to stay. The young brute peered over to his mother, who had taken up a laying position in the snow returning the smile that rested upon her features as she laughed. The world had always seen his mother as a warrior, not to be messed with, but her family knew a different side and when she did laugh she was beautiful. Rather than feeling angry at the world, Felan finally felt like a pup laughing and playing in the snow with his father. That was until a scent reached his nares and ceased his playing. Instinctively his muscles tensed and her looked over to his nurse who had risen to her paws and was snarling viciously at whoever the stranger was.

Crinkling snow made the pup freeze, his eyes burning with a wild fire. ’Corde, Felan, in the cave, NOW!’ The words stung like a bee at his ears and he knew then that this situation was serious. His tiny body surged towards his sister nudging her in the way of the den and out of dangers reach. His mother stood protectively in front of them, Felan falling before his sister. Just like his idol the boy stood protectively over his sister, his tiny hackles rising and a, non, threatening growl jerking through his teeth. Maybe this was the moment he had heard his parents talking about. Maybe, just, maybe, he was about to meet the monster responsible for the fear in his family’s life. The boy stared at the surrounding foliage, finding gaps in between his mother’s pistons to see. Soon a figure appeared in the clearing, causing the male to quiver with anticipation. If he came anywhere near his family he would be ready. Soon the stranger was addressing his father, his words forming in a silly way. For the briefest of moments the pup cocked his head to one side trying to figure out why he spoke so funny, but his mother’s words dragged him back to the matter at paw. The small multi-hued brute copied his nurse’s growl, though it was visibly less threatening than the adults, it was filled with the same hatred. Someone his mother hated this much was surely a wolf to be put on his list and he made sure to remember the strangers face. The dazzling blues seated perfectly within the wolf’s cranium would be hard to forget.

Another figure soon approached, his coat as white as the snow that blanketed under foot. His appearance came with a little more danger and velocity as a growl slithered through his jaws. This wolf was definitely one to remember. The boy didn’t know who these two wolves were but he hated them already. Slowly the male turned to glance at his sister allowing a reassuring smile to grow on his kissers. He would protect her no matter what though he knew that this would do nothing for her nerves. Finally having enough of staying quiet, the pup peeked his head round his mother’s limbs, his tiny voice booming from his chest. ”Who are you? Leave us alone!”
